Just to add you could still use pump gas. Throw on a fiberglass/cf hood to compensate for some of weight. Put in a j30 diff and the fattest tires possible! I dont get why theres so much hate.Now if you added nos ls motors love and slicks. The possibilities......

I ask the same question. These engines make power easy, and so much cheaper. I dont get why some ppl hate the fact you can make, with an ls1, close to 400hp with minimal bolt ons. Add in the fact that it is an all aluminum engine, compact and cheap.

Well the Ls1 is far from cheap. Its as expensive as an RB swap. Just b/c the ls1's became popular and made the price sky rocket.As for best Bang for the Buck. LS1 ALL THE WAY! If I had it to do over again. For the money I got in my Rb swap. I would be LS1 with a big 80mm turbo on it making about 800 at the Tires. Or you could go Old school 400sbc with a turbo setup and make 6-800 for less than 10k There is options better. as for a Nice daily driver with a TON of Tq and options to upgrade. LS1 all the way. Im not a Nitrous fan by any means. Im a turbo guy all the way lol
 Propane=6's on the way!!

lq4's love boost.I was thinking about piecing one together cause lq4 with lq6 intake with head package. 500hp all and since the lq4 is an iron block it will take a turbo no problem but is a little heavier then an ls1 aluminum block

I love my rb but your right....ls1 or any of the ls's would be nice. A local musle car shop had a dyno day a few weeks ago and there just isnt no replacement for displacement. one guy had a 350 with a turbo wider than my waste. Claimed that he made 2000+ hp at 50psi. Plus we all know that the parts are cheaper.its kinda funny b/c we wanna be like the Japs and they want to be like us. I think we have the better options
267whp-233tq rb25det,12psi,fmic,jvtr exhaust, freddy intake, pod filter
 spec 6puck clutch,lite fly, j30 diff, and more....

To dispell a myth...there is no need to go with an iron block with a turbo. Compression is way more important. Nobody on this forum is going to be pushing the limits of even a stock Gen III/IV LS-based aluminum block. The only advantage of the iron Gen III/IV small blocks is the cheaper cost.

There was no myth of whether the aluminumn block is stronger or not. It was all a Price comparison How do you know that someone on this forum won't push over 1000hp on a ls block? We run a aluminum block on our 500CI Blown Nitro 8000hp Top fuel boat. The alumnium blocks have been proven. My point was for the Price of a Ls Swap. I could have an Oldschool Iron Block with a Turbo setup good for 600+hp. The Ls motors ar WAY WAY over priced!

This is why I posted what I did about the iron and aluminum blocks....I see this far too often and wanted to say something about it. It was not directed at you rb25drag.
