dude these videos where sponsored by nissan i don't think all of that information was objective. and i thought it was funny how the guy said the most disappointing part of the supra set up was the inline 6 and that inline6's didn't belong in sports cars lol. matter of fact i think thats one of the only good things about the supra is that inline 6 and the availability of aftermarket parts. i agree that the F&F movies did make the supra popular. but why is it that you can get so much more power so much easier out of an inline 6 over a v6. and do z's have factory forged internals or is that just the supra also?grk nickafis wrote:No. The supra is not better because its not a nissan. It's only good because of the i6 2jz. It came out to compete with the 300zx. We were here first! Everyone thinks that the 300zx came out btu it wasnt faster than a supra, Wrong. The supra came out After the 300. The first few models of the supra only had 289hp too and we beat them in almost every test. then they re did it.

so true...sethhatfield wrote:All the 30's + crowd, especially the women, love them and remember wanting one when they were not affordable. Mine was $40,000 new in CA back in '95!!
lol yep.rtkota5point9 wrote:Why are they "better"? They're easier to work on, there's more room under the hood, they are LESS advanced and fancy which makes upgrading and modifying things easier, and for that same reason they don't BREAK ALL THE TIME! lol
I still love my 300ZX, but I'd much rather work on a Supra when s*** breaks.
Ahmen - for those of us who were in our teens watching these commercials there is no question as to what is the ultimate car to have:Re037 wrote:definately resonates better with people 30 and up. nearly all clean z32s i see around my area is driven by men and women in thier 30s 40s even 50s. beat up examples i can almost gurantee some 18-23 asian guy with spikey hair behind the wheel
bull s*** lol the biggest complaint from toyota owners that work with the 2j is the wiring and ecu that thing is an electrical nightmare because of all of the advanced features they tried to add to be better than everyone else. also supra parts are more expensive then z parts so while it may be easier to access things you'll pay more for them. and its not that z's break down more, its just that when they do its a b**** so people neglect to do basic maintenance because its such a b**** and so expensive, so the longer they wait the more s*** f***s up and thats why they feel like its always breaking down. atleast thats how i see it.rtkota5point9 wrote:Why are they "better"? they are LESS advanced and fancy which makes upgrading and modifying things easier
