My QX4 is nearing 110,000 miles. I will be doing an oil change and was wondering what other kind of maintenance I should be doing or if there were parts that needed to be replaced around this time. I'd like to do a full tune up but I don't know what all is involved. Thanks

change air filter, spark plugs, if you didnt lube it, get that done, fuel filter, suspension if you never replaced it, at least for me i have to do it, its pretty much crap at 104k. if you tow, rear differential fluid, mabye transmission fluids, those are all ideas i dont know what you did or didnt do.

edit: if you never replaced the rear o2 sensors, even if they dont throw a code, i think they are suppost to be replaced every 80k? dont take me up on the 80k cause im not sure.

Yea, I just had my front struts and sway bar links replaced, and all fluids changed, belts replaced, filter as well.

It's all about due around that time, but then she will be good as new for the next 40,000km

If it's a 2001 QX4, then it should have the 3.5 engine. No distributor cap or rotor. Just ignition coils.Agree on the rest though. Spark plugs, fuel filter for sure, if they've never been done.

How much were the struts? Who did them, dealer or local garage, or DIY?What symptoms were you getting that prompted you to do the struts?I think mine are starting to go, and was wondering what to do about it.

I had the dealer do them, but only because he gives me a great deal on everything, since we have been going to him since '98.

It was around $500 for everything up front, compared to what most shops were quoting me, almost $900, I figured it was a good deal, and I don't have time or the mechanical inclination to do it myself.

My biggest indication was a toss up between the leak in the strut, or the persistent knocking and sway I would get every time I hit a bump hahah

Thanks everyone for the info!

I just got new tires so I don't need them rotated. I do have an 01, 3.5, so no distributor cap or rotor.

I hope you've been doing rear LSD fluid changes (if you have it)

You do have a differential, so youve got diff fluid.

I dont know much about that procedure or service spec to change it, but its a low qt fill, so shouldnt cost you much either.

Do you have a service manual for your car?

SOOOOOOOO Handy

Royal Purple (Full Synthetic)

They have every type of oil for your car including engine oil, trans. oil and gear lube. This stuff does cost a pretty penny, but it is proven to add horsepower to a vehicle when all fluids are changed to Royal Purple.

Thanks!

I have a 2001, 3.5 qx4. From what I've read I don't need that special tool for spark plug #6. Correct? My manual makes no mention of it either.
