Does anyone have or know where I can get the 12 volt resource Nissan & Infiniti Mobile Installation cd rom? Or even the one for all vehicles? I did some soul searching and found that at one point it was available for free download via rapidshare, media-fire etc. I really dont want to pay the 14.95 as shown here:

http://www.12voltresource.com/...=1017

I'm trying to find A good 12 volt source in my QX to tap into for my illuminated door sills. Something along the kick plates would be perfect.

Hey man,

All part of learning. I am sure everyone does it differently. I believe I set mine to 20v but am not 100%. To verofy you are doing it right, set it to 20v or 50v and put the pos+ (red) prong on the positive battery post and the neg-(black on the negative post. You should get a reading of 12v +/-. Now you know it is working.

So on the basis you are still trying to wire in your kickplate. Turn your key to ACC. Under the drivers and passenger seat are the footwell lights. I am not sure how much juice they have running to them. So stab the pos+ prong into each wire in the plug for these footwell lights one at a time, while grounding out the black prong. You can ground on anything that is metal (not painted.) Once you find something giving you 12v, that should be an accessory wire. Try turning the ignition all the way to off to verify and make sure that is an accessory and not a constant. If it stays at 12v it is a constant. If it goes to 0 then it is an accessory.

Hope this helps. If you are not good with wiring/soldering I would suggest visiting Waytek and getting some solderless connectors.

Hey Jonny,

Thanks for the detailed information, that's the best information I've got out of all the forums i frequent. As for the solderless connectors, I'm going to look into that. I already made some connections with the grounds to the door switches via "t taps". I hope those are okay. Man I was using that volt meter totally wrong. I was grounding to a painted surface and you said that's a no go lol. So I ended up taking the sucker back for an exchange thinking it was broken.

Always glad to help a fellow forum member

Yes, for the ground you need bare metal to have a true ground. Most people use the black or chassis, but being that you are inside you could probably find a grounding block somewhere in there or a metal bracket.

T-taps are certainly ok, they just aren't what I use. This is what I use:

http://order.waytekwire.com/pr...0AND/

You crimp the wires, then using a heatgun it melts the solder so you have a crimped and soldered connection. You can't beat that! Also, remember to wrap everything in electrical tape.

Let me know if I can do anything else to help. Regards,Jonny

Pay aprticular attention to the orange wires as they should be accessory. And then look at black for grounds. Obviously check them first to make sure, but from my research that is what you are looking for.

Hey I got it working Jonny. I tapped the green power wire at the starter harness, and am now in the process of buttoning everything down. I tested them and they work good, when each door opens, they light up and turn off when they close. But I was interrupted by my kids so its going to have to wait til later lol. But as soon as I'm done I'm going to post pics of all the mods I've done including this one so you can see it.

Thanks again man, you really helped out.

Funny you mention this. I just made my final order and replaced EVERY interior, and several exterior lights with "cool white" leds.

You kinda nailed it with your question - the website is actually called http://www.superbrightleds.com

If Timmbo wants, I can collect all the bulb information I ordered and we could make a sticky for LED bulb replacement. Or perhaps a DIY sticky for simple mods...

Man I feel like a kid in candy store right now looking through this website you recommended. There is so much to chose from lol. If you don't mind me asking, what did you go with for the side mirrors, foot wells, and the 194 door/step lights?

I felt the same man. Here is my order... I ordered 1-2 spares for some of them just in case I had a problem:

Quantity: 8Product: 921-x9 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 1.95 (each)Options: White 921-W9 1.75

These are for your side mirrors, and also your lights above your headlights etc...

Quantity: 12Product: WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb $ 2.99 (each)Options: Cool White WLED-CW5 0.95

These are for all of your personal lights, lower foot well lights etc etc.

Quantity: 4Product: 3022-x4 LED Festoon bulb $ 1.89 (each)Options: Cool White 3022-CW4 0.95

The festoon bulbs are for the interior lights when you open your car (in the center that you push the light to turn on and off) and then for the light that comes on when you open the rear hatch.

Hope this helps Jonny

Yes indeed. Do you notice a significant difference? Ive been buying these cheesy lights from autozone and i keep taking them back cause they all suck. I went with these sylvania hyper White light for my fogs, but it really doesn't look that different. I want my fogs to match the color of my head lights,I hate the fact that they are 2 different colors. Any suggestions for the fogs?

Yes, it looks awesome. I will get you come pictures tomorrow night of how it looks at night.

Yes - get some H3 HID's. They are plug and play install and takes about 5 minutes per side. I thought my headlights were 6000k, so I got the 6k fogs. Now it seems that the headlights are 4300k so they are not a perfect match

Looks much better than the yellow though...

Yes, they are superfast. They ship the same day and I usually get mine within 2 days

No, don't get the H3's from there. You should get HID H3's, not regular LED ones.

If you want a cheap set follow this link

or else XenonDepot is pretty cheap too.

Hope this helps,Jonny

Yes sir - although I was not the one to install the TV's or supercharger, so no props to me. I lucked out this time and bought everything already done. A pleasant change I might add

There are 4 headrest TV's, a flip down in the center, and then the NAV screen which turns into a TV with the flip of a switch.

As for the supercharger, it is the Stillen supercharger that has been mentioned previously on here by Timmbo and InifiniteBeyond. I will try and get some pictures/video of it so you can at least somewhat experience it. Certainly a funny toy to have on tap
