  KA-T POLL: Your WHP and your PSI


Sorry to hijack your thread, but I just wanted to let everyone know I made it a sticky cause there will be good info here. So no off topic posts will be tolerated...thx, WD


What PSI do you normally run, and what does it dyno at? Also specify if your a SOHC or a DOHC. If theres already a poll like this, smack me upside the head.

Example:

8 psi 250whp KA24DE-T

or 20 PSI 450whp KA24E-T Fully Built.

or whatever you wanna post on this Power and PSI poll.

This isnt a Who's got the biggest nuts thread, its more of me wanting to see what the general KA-T public is producing, to better aide me in my engine choice. I'm considering every path to power except the SR20 at this point.

I would suggest that everyone lists their turbo as well...

8psi froma T04E compressor is MUCH different than 8psi from a T3 compressor...

I run a T3/T04E, 57-trim and dyno'd 248rwhp at 8psi.

today i finally took my ka24et powered 240 to the track in carlsbad, ca.
my best run of the day at 11-12psi was

1/8 e/t-----8.938
1/8 mph---82.33
1/4 e/t-----13.698
1/4 mph---101.77

that was with an open differential, 195 passenger tires, and stock suspension. can't wait til i get the boost up to 18-20psi and get some drag radials and an lsd.

Car owners that are looking for more performance swap their engines for larger displacement ones, like Honda owners B16 to B18, Ford owners 3.8-V6 to 4.6-V8, Subaru owners from EJ205 to EJ257 so why do Nissan owners go down in displacement? Are we somehow different, do the rules not apply to us? Do we think that going down in displacement will increase the performance of our vehicles?

310 rwhp and 316 ft.lbs of torque at 17 psi on a t3/t04e. I could have advanced the base timing some and i also have had a knock sensor code the whole timing. Im not sure if its causing timing to be pulled out.
Compression results of my 8.5:1 motor: 128, 130, 128, 128

wow those numbers from everyone look great... I took my hardbody to the dyno today and made a very depressing 157 @7psi to the wheels on a mustang dyno......I still have some spark and fuel issues but i will fix that, not bad though for a Bone stock KA with a turbo.. guess its time for a different intake and a cam :)

i only made 178 rwhp at 7 psi on mustang dyno. When I dynoed on a dynojet at 7 psi, I made 201 rwhp. That a 11% difference.
Mustang dyno's read lower compared to Dynojets but they are prolly more accurate.

The 240 had more power than the sohc motor so that is probably why, plus you probably have stuff done to your car too huh? My truck is bone stock other than a turbo, It would have only put down 90 to the wheels b4 the turbo, so thats a large improvement i think
