Sweet! VQ swaps are always hot. I wish I had the time to strip my car out and clean everything out. Maybe I will on a long vacation.

Between work and house hunting the past few months its taken a while I started stripping her down in may and just finished up the rammatt this past weekend so a few months. Sounds like a long time but I only get to work on a few hours a week and I'm working on a few other small related projects at the same time. I'm really in no rush to finish so I want it to be done right. Luckily I didn't have to deal with any rust issues or it would've taken a lot longer, this car came from texas.

Dry ice makes fast work of that nasty tar crap let it sit a few mins and it chips right off, if you can't get dry ice near you get out the hammer and chisel and go to town for a few hours have plenty of beer handy too

Refinished the headliner it was pretty easy actually1. stock headliner not in bad shape for its age I could probably clean it but I hate the gray I want it black
2. strip the fabric off the headliner it should peel off with a little force
3. take some 80 grit sandpaper and sand off any left over glue/fabric/etc
4. I got black headliner fabric at jo ann fabrics it was pretty cheap I think $10, also 2 cans of 3M super 90 $20. Spray the super 90 on both the headliner and the fabric wait about a min then press fabric onto the headliner smoothing out any kinks. I worked in small sections at a time its too hard to try and do the entire headliner in one shot so I worked back to front in about 1' sections, let that dry then continued. Sorry didnt take any pics during I only have 2 hands lol
I think it came out pretty good for my first time, its not perfect but close enough. It was a little tough around the weird contours work slow around those areas. The carpet came in last week gonna try to get to that this weekend if I have time.

Looks awesome so far. I am planning to go with the same trunk look as well. I am already dreading the "tar" removal. I am subscribed the thread so I will definetly be watching for updates.
Boost. Its whats for dinner!
