Might be a while... still waiting for the enamel to come via FedexCoolwhip wrote:i remember hand sanding my first SR block, what a pain and a job and a half.
I do await for your next update
Not really... Took me about 20 - 30 minates with a 40 grit straight roll to get results like this on the cool side of the motor. After first pass getting the major areas, so I can come back to get the minor details.l0nestar wrote:You sir, have waaaaaaay too much time on your hands... Did you clean / de-burr the windage tray as well?

You're short of luck from me. Try Karim..cdorhout wrote:Hey Rare_f8, sorry to change the subject but I see you're from Omaha. Do you know anybody with a RB25 block in the Omaha / Lincoln area? I broke a piston and it shredded the block. I need to find one asap.
I would say you pretty much have to clean the block somehow..or the grime will clutter the sand bits rendering them useless.l0nestar wrote:ohhh. your a funny-boy!!
Are you hot-tanking your motor before painting it? Which paint / enamel are you using?
Well, as I learned here a while ago.. never underestimate what some people will do.. (like not tanking your block before painting it..) I was just checkingRare_f8 wrote:I would say you pretty much have to clean the block somehow..or the grime will clutter the sand bits rendering them useless.
I did choose hot tanking. To clean out the exterior, the interior was surprisingly clean anyways.
Before shot hot tanked.
It's amazing that this block weights less than my 1.9L Beater block.
As for enamel... a magician never reveals his tricks... Well for the most part.. I will reveal it when I am done rattling..
I'll cosign for Karim he is a good guy. I got my RB motor set from him back in the day.Rare_f8 wrote:
