The fans are the FAL 220's....they are mounted next to each other as pullers behind the radiator. CFM rating is 2500Darius wrote:Are both fans mounted to the radiator and across from eachother? What brand of fans are you using and what are they rated to flow?
and im actually missing the underbody splash try thing.gawdzilla wrote:do you have the under body "splash tray" in?
that helps stablize the temps tremendously. i definitely recommend getting it. it will help keep your temps down at speed.s14_sport wrote:and im actually missing the underbody splash try thing.
I put on a brand new water pump. Timing is set perfectly and I have since switched back from PowerFC to stock ECU. Runs much better.240z4u wrote:There have been cases where folks have had water pumps with the blades worn badly. Really hurt water flow.
How is your timing set? You may be heating up the motor with a bad tune too (timing particularly).

So you like the Mishimoto radiator also? hmmm..lilskyline240 wrote:are you sure u got all the air pockets out of the coolant system? Cuz im only running one 12in pusher fan that i pulled out of a car at the junkyard and i NEVER see temps over 80c no matter what the temp outside or how hard im beating on it. Im running a Mishimoto radiator with stock T-stat.
Maybe I should drop the Nismo t-stat and install the Stant Z32 that I have sitting in the box in my garage..Carl H wrote:replace the nismo tstat with the standard 79.5*c z32 tt one and fit a z32 tt radiator cap...nissan parts ONLY!
ok going to try and bleed the coolant some more...lilskyline240 wrote:are you sure u got all the air pockets out of the coolant system? ordered the tt and rad cap and looking into oil coolers...Carl H wrote:replace the nismo tstat with the standard 79.5*c z32 tt one and fit a z32 tt radiator cap...nissan parts ONLY!fit an external oil cooler.
[Darius wrote:Your setup should definitely not be overheating. Normally it is that people need more shrouding or the fans are too small. But in your case, the fans suck air hard and this shouldn't be happening.
I think the lower engine bay tray helps, like gawdzilla said, and maybe try checking the water pump belt tension. (??) Does the 220 shroud completely seal around the perimeter? If it doesn't, the fans will pull a lot of air through the gap instead of through the radiator.
yes, as a matter of fact i did get my Z32 back...l0nestar wrote:S14_Sport,
Did you ever receive your replacement Z32 ECU?
Jack the front of the car up as high as possible. Remove the radiator cap and set the heat on high. Start the car and massage all the coolant lines to makes sure all bubbles are out.s14_sport wrote:

i know tension is pretty much perfect...but the 220 is not entirely sealed. im gonna work on that now.

ill check when i get home later...Shocker wrote:s-14 sport what model griffin rad is that?
The way the car feels now that i dropeed 15 degrees makes any performance lost by putting on a stock clutch fan irrelevant.ANVIL wrote:well im not too worried, if i can get 5C lower id be happy. i mean 92C is 197F which is pretty much normal operating temp for most cars
does the car feel any different performance wise since you went to clutch fan?
yeah if you could check I'd appreciate it.s14_sport wrote:ill check when i get home later...
No laughs here, I found through measuring it appears that the s-14 core support has more room for the rad to be tucked underneath it compared to the s-13's. (Stupid pop up light motors are to blame)Carl H wrote:and to think that everyone laughed at me when i did this setup...
