Hey guys, I might have an issue with JDM Steve who goes under the screen name: RBpoweredSileighty . It's been a matter of months since my purchase and I haven't recived my stuff yet. This is ridiculous. I have been a member here since I got my S14 in January and purchased some interior parts from Steve around the same time. Contact was via email since I'm a noob and can't PM. He seems to be avoiding my calls and emails. I know he is online because he has signed on to his myspace as recent as today. I have all the emails and paypal transaction nos. for the sale and need to get my parts or my money back. I'm not trying to tarnish his reputation but I'm just a college kid who needs his money back or my parts. Thanks in advance. Any help/insight is appreciated.

Deal with him locally before. Does not seem like a bad person though. Hope you get your part soon.

Dealt with him before. Needed basically an S14 front end which he sold to me for $300. Said he would ship the next day, then the next day, then the Monday, then by Friday - I had the package shipped with a tracking number that wasn't activated. I also paid him almost double for shipping to get it expressed.

Turns out the package was never shipped, but was "forgotten in the back room at USPS" so he took the package home to rebox and he'll ship next week.

His communication was hit or miss, I called him and he answered, and he'd answer his emails quickly, then dissapear for a few days even though he was logging into NICO etc.

After all these hardships I requested to just get refunded, as this was getting to be a headache. I had to take action to get my money back by reporting him to PayPal and threatening to go public on NICO / Zilvia / and wherever else I could find him. He wanted to give me back all the money *except* what I paid for shipping (Almost $100). I said "No", again threatened and reasoned with him about why I shouldn't have to pay for his and USPS's mix up.

- The original for sale ad mentioned package was ready to ship. His excuse in the end was that the package wasn't actually ready to ship, and he needed that...3 - 4 days to pull the parts and ship it, after pulling my money of course.

Have seen him to a lot of business locally, but aside from that I wouldn't trust him. If you're really worried, put a claim in at PayPal, you took a good first step making a post on NICO.

Well he really did seem like a decent guy. In the beginning he was most responsive and helpful. That's why I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but now it's just gone too long.

Hey, Thanks for the response. Did you ever get it worked out? Did you get all the money back? I'm getting more and more worried/upset now.

Thanks again.

To the OP.

Yeah I got my money back, it took a week for him to transfer the funds from his account to paypal and then refund this. These are the steps I took:

1: First I tried to resolve it with him, I called USPS to confirm what happened (of course no record of anything like that)

2: I asked for a refund, he complied but said he is out the shipping, and now so am I. I called BS, called USPS and was told that the tracking # he provided me was never activated, and it's not even an international TRK (I am in Canada)

3: Reported to Paypal of a deal gone sour

4: Did a paypal "request funds" from his account of the amount owing to me

5: Told him I would go public to every forum he is on selling things

---

After all of this, the money was finally transferred back.

He was a nice guy - mostly all the way through. I had a bad experience, with some questionable excuses and stories, but he was always very polite and I treated him with respect and maturity.

In the end I needed those parts to keep my car out of the insurance companies hands - and with time constraints on my shop time at my body shop, I either needed to pay the difference, find some parts, or buy parts through Nissan. I paid for express shipping and never got my parts - in the end I had to fork out $1800 for Nissan parts to save my car from write-off.

that's ****ed up.

but i know how that goes... i'm STILL ****ing waiting for a goddamn coolant resevoir i bought off a guy on nico. it's prolly been a couple months or longer....

he told me he had it when he had no idea where it was... then said he didn't have it and would refund me... then said he did and was gonna ship asap... then his "graduation and family ****" got in the way so it's been months.

the only reason why i've waited it out so long is because it was only like... 20 bucks including shipping.

and i'm still waiting.

It doesn't matter if its a $20 purchase, its still your money. He filled his gas tank half way and you haven't received your coolant resevoir... DAMN, I hate threads like this because it shows how untrustable people can be =/I hope every one on this thread gets their parts/money back/justice

Well I've tried contacting him via email and phone but he simply doesn't respond. I last spoke to him on May 1st 2008 on the phone and he said he'll call me back in 10 minutes. Well it's been a month now. I've emailed and called many times per week so I'm pretty sure he has got at least one of the many messages I left.

I did file a claim with PayPal but it may be too late since the transaction went through on the 23rd of January 2008. PayPal requires within 45 days.

I sent him an email today about me going public to no every existing forum that is in anyway related to nissans and even those that aren't. I gave him until this Friday to send my money back.

I have nothing to lose and everything to gain..... he has it the other way around. Lose one customer rather than an entire market. I lost more than a weeks pay of my hard earned money......I am determined to get it back.

I've had a car stolen from me before.... lost thousands.... haven't recovered from that blow yet. I won't stand for **** like this. No Way.

Also do a request of money from his email, I believe it's [email protected] --

Just jam up his paypal with requests, it'll make it a little tougher to do business if it's all fubar'd.

JDM Steve a.k.a RBpoweredSileighty ripped me off too. I purchased some exhaust parts from him back in May and he never sent me anything. He will not return emails or phone calls. I had to file a chargeback against him with paypal. Avoid him at all costs, takes your money then dissappears.....also goes by JDM Steve

I bought some s14 seatbelts a while back with no problems, I put a WTB in at like midnight, he responded not even a half hour later, helped with paypal and that was that. Got them a little while later with no problems.

He hasn't posted on Nico in over 2 months. Im guessing he took the money and ran. I do believe its time to up the anti.

Bart, you may want to think about putting Steve's User name and alias name in the thread title. Lets get some google attention. Also, someone may want to alert the Hitman, he does not take kindly to scammers.

We should also get a list of all the people he owes money or parts to, that way we can get a running total of money owed.

I just ran it: 24.98.201.29

He's definitely in Atlanta, GA. That IP is rooted to the city.

We have plenty of NICONauts to go knock on his door.

Steve -

You've already posted commercailly on these boards without authorization... then you fail to hold up your end of several transactions... then I read about you no the 240_atlanta forums pulling a scam...

Here's the deal - Make everyone whole NOW or all hell is going to break loose. If you think I'm kidding, feel free to search these forums for "Bud Brown" for just one of MANY examples of how we treat scammers around here.

We also have several staff in your hometown who'll be more than happy to pop in on you and make sure you take care of unfinished business.

Zero tolerance for scammers and irresponsible chumps here.

Get it together or watch your name get dragged through the mud (and worse).
