ok, so paying bills around here is making my budget tighter than stewie's one-sy peter wears on family guy

anywho, instead of going up to 13psi ish with the z32 maf, 550cc inj, and stage 3000 clutch, im looking to go with cheapo boost for now.

what im planning is the kit which will consist of a t3/t4 .63 turbo, fmic, 3" cat-back, the manifold etc, walbro fuel pump with stock fuel system, to run 7psi (thats the max, safely on stock injectors i hear).

so my question is whether i can use an FMU (8:1??) or will an E-Mance tune eliminate the need for one? its gotta last for a while, my other ka hatch is turning into a bunch of babies

At that boost your injectors will max out and maybe even crapp out on you like what happened to me. With that set-up you need bigger injectors. If you want a reliable car then you have to get bigger injectors w/emance tune. E-mance is similar to enthaply but for around $160. you shouldnt need that FMU w/emance.

Kinda off topic but can I run an 8:1 FMU with my 370cc injectors? Planning on boosting stock 7-8 psi. Already have Walbro fuel pump.

FMU should only be used when your not upgrading to larger injectors.

Other wise how are you going to tell your ECU it has larger injectors and to put less fuel in out of boost.

for a budget setup, my impression from my thread i started a week ago (link provided >>>(zerothread/339087) was that you can run up to 6psi safely with a 8:1 fmu and walbro.

I am actually going to do a similar setup to yours too very soon with the t3/t4, fmic, fmu, and walbro. except i will probally be running 5-5.5 psi on my stock ka to be on the safe side.

as for fuel system, it is either:

FMU + walbroor bigger injectors +walbro + piggyback or standalone.

FMU doesnt need a tune, but running bigger injectors do. hope i helped! WDracin and 480sx are really helpful too, they will probally chime in later.

Yes, you have been very helpful. I might finish up my turbo KA in less than a week or two. So my set up right now will be: Bottom mount manifold, T25 from an SR, SR dowpipe, Front mount intercooler, Oil feed/drain lines, 8:1 FMU, Walbro fuel pump... Hope all goes well. I want to lower my psi down to 5 also but the T25 is preset to 8psi I think. Good luck to your project by the way.

The Emance or any other ecu tune for that matter is used to control timing and larger injectors. It can't magically add fuel if you have stock injectors. Your best bet is a fuel pump and 8:1 FMU and no more the 7 psi unless you have something to retard timing on boost, like the MSD BTM. In fact you might wanna bump the timing back a little just for safeties sake.

Well, since I already have a Walbro and 370cc injectors... and that 8:1 FMU is aorund a hundred bucks... I'm just gonna pick up a used safc for fuel management. Since my T25 is preset to 8psi and all, I wanna keep it safe. If only i can lower the pressure...

actually, dont get the safc and F

ifyoure running a s13 ka and s13 ecu, migth as well go e-mance. send e-mance youe ecu, he will chip it, and sent it back. its liek ...180$ish, maybe 4 days downtime, and youll have a much better tune.
