Yes, speakers are interchangeable. Just make sure your head unit has enough watts to power your new aftermarket speakers at their RMS rating + enough for your additional stock speaker.

alright cool. do they make aftermarket center speakers? and i was looking at the brackets for new speakers and they say they fit 5.5" - 6" speakers, do they have some that fit a 6.5" speaker?

yes. you can get aftermarket brakets for your doors and rear speakers to fit 6.5 all the way around. i got my off of ebay for like 20 or 25 bucks they were made out of 5/16 plastic and fit perfectly in the doors and rear. i also add to pull out the pre-amp for the bose speakers

If your system is the BOSE system, then you need to check your impedances. Mine, for example was BOSE with 2 ohm speakers. If you replace the speakers with conventional speakers, you will have a 4 ohm load instead of a 2 ohm load which will make the amplifier that they are connected to put out only half of the power of the previous speakers. Yes, there are aftermarket center channel speakers avaliable for your Z. Alpine probably has the best unit, model # SBS-05DC, for the Z. I have this unit for sell if you or anyone else is interested.
