hey guys, im running absolutley discustingly rich.

- so rich it doesnt let me boost over 5 psi- so rich it bogs out and i cant just punch the throttle- so rich i have a constant stream of black smoke

My setup is as follows

- s13 redtop SR- Stock everything- Starion FMIC- Ford Probe BOV (re-circ'd)- Stock injectors/FPR- NGK BRK6ES11 plugs gapped to .28- Timing is DEAD on- TPS reads .44 at closed and 4.5 at WOT- CTS reads 3.5V at OT- KA24E (SOHC) MAF, reading correctly and wired right (just match the color of the wires right? black/white to black/white, black to black, white to white?)- Coilpacks were recently replaced and are bolted down nice and tight.- pulling around 10 InHg of vacuum, at idle and between 10 and 20 at cruise

Like i said it wont boost past 5 psi without breaking up, i hooked up the stock boost control solenoid as per the FSM hoping that it was the wastegate and i could simply fool it to open later. but that doesnt seem to have fixed it.-

I have NO boost leaks, my BOV is recirculated

You must have a vac leak some where. You should be pulling between 16 and 18 Inhg of vac at idle.

I pull between 19 and 25 in hg depending on idle speed, this is a symptom, I like symptoms, they lead to the solution.

how are your vac lines routed?

Mine go as follows

TB - FPRTB - boost gauge/bov/IC pipe - wg

Honestly Ive never seen an SR pull that much vacuum but it could just be elevation. Make sure all your pipes and hoses are tight. ( I use little zip ties on my vacuum lines) MAke sure you are fireing on all four cylinders. Check for a stuck injector.

injectors are next on my list of things to check. but how do you check side feeds?

an injector shop can flow test them.

Its good just to get in there and see what you find. I had a similar problem, when I pulled the injectors out, I found 2 of 4 o-rings were ripped. I dont know how they got ripped or if the fuel pressure did it, but anyways, when I replaced them the car ran like a charm, and I got better than 6 mpg.

Good luck!

If you have no vac leaks I would guess that way too much fuel is causing the low vacuum. I would start looking at the fuel injectors.

check the resistance on your injectors, make sure they are within spec, also check your fuel pressure. When you pull your spark plugs out they are black correct? Are any of the plugs differant, some blacker than others, some wet some not, and so on and so forth.

Maybe i got it figgered

i checked EVERY freaking sensor, EVERY freaking hose clamp ect.

Turns out my CTS is not giving me a resistance value at all when cold, it says in the FSM that 20*C = 2.1-2.9 ohms, im not getting a value atall

hrmm...ill be buying a new one shortly
