So I know most remove it but my car is a DD and Ive gone 6 months now w/o and the temp reaching over 100 degrees is getting to be too much for me.

I wanted to know what options are out there for the CA to ridge a AC system. I have the OEM CA compressor, but no lines and no idea if it even works. Not to mention it is 112 so getting that is getting harder but w/e.

so I know I can have custom AC lines made......

beyond that what other options are out there? I know that stupid CA chick was talking about using something of the SOHC KA...... anyone got any idea about that? is there a way to convert the compressor to work with the CA and then use SOHC AC lines(I know IM still working with 112).

also, is there a possibly of doing a completely custom system with the 134? Something theat will still function and be al custom made and if so what kind of money are we talking? I know anything can be done but for how much are we talking?

i used my factory sohc ka compressor and lines, it bolted right up. but the wheel is a little offset. so i ran a 2 rib belt instead of a 3 rib.

so all i need to do is replace the CA compressor with the SOHC KA and run SOHC KA lines? Also swapping the belt to a 3 rib?

is this something you are currently using or is it something you heard of. This seems almost too easy........

Holy crap, that's ingenious! Is your A/C running and working this way? I may have to give that a try, good thing I've still got all the A/C stuff from my SOHC around.

Just curious................do you have the part # for the 2 rib belt? The pulley I'm using is slightly offset too when using my S12 compressor. I've been trying to come up with a way to correct it.........

Thanks

OR if you take the CA compressor and SOHC KA compressor to any compressor shop, they can swap the pullies and then you can run a full 3 rib belt.

I have a buddy that did that as well but his belt snapped and a piece of it found its way through his radiator, so if you go that route I would keep an eye on the condition of the belt from time to time. As for the pulley swap I have yet to see it successfully done without getting some custom bearings. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, but do the "earth friendly" way by taking your car to an ac shop, and they'll suck the r12 out in a closed system......and for free usually because r12 is so expensive, and they can turn around and re-sell it.But yeah, the 134a conversion kits work well in a r12 system......doesn't get quite as cold as the r12.....mainly because the system is designed for r12 system........but mine blows a nice 35-38 degrees.....which is plenty cold for me....if I can ever resolve my belt issue
