The rev-up motor uses a different intake plenum. It also has variable cam timing on the exhaust cams where the non-rev-up version only has it on the intake cams. The rev-up version revs to 7000 RPM and likely has slightly beefier rods to handle the additional tensile load of the higher RPM.

Is this a common mod, to take off the Infiniti symbol and toss on the ugly Nissan one.

No offense, nice car, but put back on the Infiniti, people are going to think you have a 350Z and the Infiniti one looks more classy.

Overall, I love that color G and the upgraded OEM rims.

Good luck, but don't ghettofy it to much.

Infiniti = NissanLexus = ToyotaAcura = Honda

The badge makes no difference on class. If you want to brag about having a Infiniti go ahead but you still have a luxury coupe nissan.

Also don't forget.

VW=Audi

Of course I know that Nissan=Infiniti, I am just curious why someone would rebadge their this way. Maybe its the whole japanese concept,but do as you will, its their car.

Is this where they get the difference between 280hp and the 298 hp between the two motors?

or am i on crack?

this whole topic boggles me too, advantages to one over the other? More power obviously being one of them.

any others? Any advantages of the non rev up?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesen't the auto get the 280 rating? I thought this was just so auto drivers could use 87 octane.

so if a non rev up motor were to face off with a rev up motor.... stock for stock, how badly would the non rev up get beaten?

The rev up does perform better right? And also more efficient one would think.

BINGO! You're prize will be mailed to you shortly. It's a JDM catalog!!! It's written in Japanese, so you won't be able to read it or order from it, but if you put it on your dash board, it's good for an additional 8 HP !!!!

You will also get a secret decoder ring for the site that will decode for you when somebody says they have a S13 or S14, etc...

Welcome!

True that the auto has the 280 hp tune. But it is not for 87 octane. The auto uses 91+ octane also. says it right on the fuel fill door.
