With the numerous threads that were on turbo lines I figure I make the all end thread about it.

This is for a CA utilizing a bottom mount turbo like a T25/T28.

Its pretty easy to make. I made these lines for CH187 they ran about $130

Here is what you need.

Those are the Coolant Lines.

This is the Oil line, you could probably make this but I had my hydraulics make one for $18

These are the oil fittings you need. If your non Ball Bearing or if you are and the turbo has the built in restrictor. This is a open fitting that is a 7/16 Inverted Flare to -4AN

If your Ball Bearing but doesn't have built in restrictor than you will need this one. The fitting is a 0.035" Restrictor that goes from a 7/16 Inverted Flare to a -4AN.

This fitting goes on the Oil Block where it turns 90*. This is a M12x1.0 to -4AN fitting. This connects to the turbo oil line and connects to the above fittings.

A little tip when cutting your lines. Wrap the area your gonna cut in Electrical tape, its ok to make it thick. Doing this prevents the line to fray making it difficult to attach the fittings. I use a chop to cut my lines, but you could use a die grinder, table saw or a SS Hose cutter.

After you cut the line, remove the tape and either insert the red part of the fitting or put about 2 loops of electric tape and slide the red fitting on. Once you got the red fitting on screw in the blue fitting. Its gonna be tight so put some force into it.

Repeat the process 4 times. The Clamp fitting will be ALOT easier.

This is what it looks like after your done.

It actually came out cheaper because I had left over SS line from my own personal lines I made. But thats pretty much a good estimate.

Yes, thats great. That should be added to the article. Ask one of the mods to add that lists. It helps people get the parts and follow your diy better. Oh, and maybe catergorize that list for each turbo line for user friendly.

Nice, but Taka sells premade lines for nearly the same price. After making my oil cooler, I'm not too sure I want to go though the drama of that again, lol.

I did just replace my coolant feed (metal line assembly behind head) with a single SS braided teflon Aeroquip hose. But that was because I was tired of the unused vac line assembly attached to the stock line.

Well benefits of this is you will become better at making lines and be able to do lines for other places like fuel, water, and oil around the engine.

great info! I have some n00b questions though... will those fittings work on the SR20 as well (S14 to be exact)? and how do I know if I need a restricted/unrestricted fitting for the oil line? I have a GT28RS. I think I need a restricted one from what I've searched.

Those fittings should work on the SR20 S13 possibly S14 as well, I believe the S14 requires 1 more 6an fitting.

As for restrictor fitting, look at the turbo where the oil feed line goes, if the hole is extremly tiny than it has a restrictor built it, it should look brass in color. If its a decent size hole than it requires a restrictor this is for BB turbos. If you have a non BB turbo than dont worry because the block has a restrictor in that 90* fitting.

capowered240 depending on the turbo but usually a bottom mount turbo you can get a special oil return flange that lets you use SS lines which will be 10AN or 5/8" hose.

So the female oil connection on the block is M12x1.0 and on the turbo is 7/16" ?

If I scrap the water lines and am happy with the oil return (return should be fine ya? A new rubber hose w/ good clamps?) I can just the the 9" SS line and nothing else?

I called a supply shop they quoted me $12.50 woot!

if you decided to scrap the water line, which I wouldn't, you should at least cap off or plug up (non destructively) the inlet/outlet on the turbo, I'd think.. don't want crap getting in there

Are the 7/16 to -4 AN fittings brass? Isn't brass frowned upon as a material for pieces that will see vibration?
