New GT-R is currently being tested at Nürburgring North Course since last fall and has beaten best time of Porsche 997 GT3 (7:42). The article does not list lap time of GT-R, but quicker than 7:40? For reference please see below. You can have idea of how fast new GT-R runs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N...times

I like it..

too much going on in the rear, needs a more subtle wing.

I also like it I say let other cars be subtle if they want, this is a GT-R.

the whole car is sooo busy, which might have worked had it not been based on a platform with smooth, flowing lines. ugly, but definitely functional.

When you're going that fast, it doesn't matter if it looks like a GT-R or a Gremlin. I bet it would be even nicer without the [functional] wing.

The Z06.

The new GTR definetly looks nicer than the earlier pics I've seen of it. My opinion of it has gone up some.

A more subtle wing for sure. And man, did they put enough scoops and louvres on it? Sheesh. I just think it needs a bit cleaning up.

Everyone is hating on all the do-dads that make it a top shelf performance machine. If it's a Civic, (hell, even a Z33 or a GT Mustang) it doesn't need those things, but the GT-R is going to be one of the very top tier automobiles, bought by people who plan on taking the car to it's limits (though most of them shouldn't...). No one gives the new Z06 crap because it has (functional) brake inlets.

I know they're functional, but they are so many and too prominent. If Ferrari and Porsche can do it in a sleeker fashion then so could Nissan.

It needs all that? Lamborghinis don't even look that cluttered. They could have given it all the functional scoops/vents/inlets and still made it look far more streamlined than it is.

I'd still take one, though.

Hasn't anyone realised that americans just dont like spoilers? Cannot accept them??? I don't understand it. Everyone else seems to accept a spoiler for what it is and it's functionality but Only in america do you hear complaints about it... Especially when it is big. I dig them and so do the japanese. That GTR is a japanese car. It is going to be sold in america yes but accept it for the market it comes from.

The only things I would change would be smoothing out the rear bumper (not sure if those dark grey areas are vents or what ) and either removing or reshaping the vents on the back of the rear quater. Being perfectly honest no GT-R has ever been streamlined or pretty its just functional.

Guess you are going to have to wait for the redesign then. Thats its final body I believe.

I like the fact that they re re re re did it again, i mean they made some changes and it looks much better. The thing i like the most is the new headlights, how they don't have the black going all the way down into the bumper anymore and i'm not sure about the spoiler, i like it in one pic but i don't like it in another but i like it regardless because it serves it's purpose but it def looks like it's predecessor now

Oh and the one thing that really bothers me is it seems like its so high from the rear, if the rear was dropped down some more it would probably look better imo.

Here we go guys. The above version is the EVO version. So many the other versions are sleeker. Heres the breakdown:

The standard GTR is expected to start at $57K while the V Spec and EVO Spec will start at $67K and $94K respectivly. Both a 6 speed and an advanced paddle shifting automatic are to be available. The Standard GTR and Spec V will be equiped with a 480HP version of the VQHRTT engine(displacement is either 3.7 or 3.8L as it has not yet beenn confirmed). The GTR EVO will receive a 530HP version of the VQHRTT engine as well as being roughly 220lbs lighter then the standard GTR, coming with light weight seats, a larger more aerodynamic rear spoiler, large ceramic brake rotors, and a revised Attessa AWD geared for more track use.

It's ugly as sin and the wing is the least of what's causing it.

Even so, it's still fast and that's what counts in my book. Maybe they'll look better in person.

It is a bit busy, but i like it. In the pic where Porsche and GTR is, the Porsche's rear looks like tired eyes, and the GTR is all amped up. But still, R34>all skylines.

If the wing serves a purpose then thats one thing but when every high school kid and flat out idiot has one on his front wheel drive civic, cavalier, neon, plymouth acclaim ( yes ive seen one ), or elantra and all they have is a intake and muffler tip, then it gets real old real quick. When your driving down a road and think your in an air plane graveyard from all the damn wings then yeah, you start to hate em.

Back on topic. For what it is i think it looks pretty good and would love to own one but know i never will so its no big deal to me what it really looks like. Im sure there will be body kits and what not eventually to make it look any way someone might want.

I think before the re-design of the new one, it looked almost emo... if that makes sense.

I do like it. Looks mean as ****e. But does anyone else think these pics look a little doctored? Like those vents/louver on the back bumper. And the headlights change from pic 1 to pic 2. Even if it is chopped though, that ish looks good a Nissan should build it.

It does seem like the American majority of "car tuners" dislike wings whether functional or not. The Sti has a functional rear spoiler but now you can buy it without one. Don't remember of many American production cars that have a high spoiler, except the Cobra R and the srt4. Maybe they just don't believe that aerodynamic gains for having a high spoiler are worth sacrificing looks.
