Hello everyone,I am soooo frustrated. I just bought a pair of racing seats from "Hyperformance Street Tuning: and they dont fit!http://www.shophyperformance.com/cgi-bi ... Seats.html

Anyways i luv the seats but the tracks dont line up properly. I thought about just drilling new holes in the base of the car but the way the sheet metal is the back right slider will not align up properly onto any area where i can drill. if i was to use the previously drilled hole then the left slider wont line up with anything. I looked on the original seat and they had special brackets on the sliders. I tried to take them off but they are not even bolted on with any screws that i can screw off. This is sooo frustrating

I'm sure someone here has installed aftermarket seats in there car. If so can u please tell if you ran into this problem? how you installed your seats and what brand of seat u went with.

I dont really wana spend a **** load on new seats.

Thanks

i have a 2003 Spec V. im thinkin about redoin the interior, suspension and the exhaust i would luv some suggestions...

I am trying to put in new seats but im having trouble with the sliders lining up, as i stated in the other post.

im redoin the carpet, my doors panels ratle when i put the bass up all the way on the radio so and the door panels need to be replaced anyways so im gonna change those.

i really want to put in some of those diamond cut floor panels, but dont know where to find any??????

SUSPENSION:please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between struts and shocks and do i need bot or just one of them. I want really good performance from my suspension, i want to be able to corner really good, and want a nice ride. what brand of shocks/ struts should i use?

Im thinkin about lowering my ride what spring do u guys recommend? has anyone lowered their car, should i even bother, the specv alrealy looks low, right?

EXHAUST:I have no clue about the exhaust. what i do know is that i want dueal exhaust. I kinda want to increase my horse power but i DO NOT LIKE the really loud ricy sound. how much will my horses increase? should i replace the catback and just put the whole catback exhaust kit?

I thought about adding the cool air intake but then i run into the problem of water in the engine. then i was going to go with a short ram intake but everyone seems to be of the opinion that it will make the car really noisy which is what i DONT want. what is my best option?

Will upgrading spark plug wires do anything for my horses? i dont want a turbo or anything like that, just some upgrades that will give me a new feel.

I dont want a new car yet, but am a little bored with mine right now so i want to make some small changes.

any help is much appreciated. thanks for taking the time to read and for your suggestions.

I'd get in touch with the vendor and have them send you different brackets or some sort of fix.

It actually sounds like you just need a correct set of seat rails. They don't usually come with the seats because they're not universal.

Wow, okay, you've run into some misinformation.

For suspension, you have a few options. If you replace the springs you'll need new shocks.

Your options are as follows:- KYB GR2 shocks and some sort of spring - really no performance gain, just allows you to lower the car without blowing the shocks, use Eibach Prokit, Sportline, or H&R Sport shocks- Koni Yellow shocks and some sort of spring (Eibach Sportline or H&R Sport are your best bets)- TEIN coilovers, there are a few variants- K-Sport coilovers - pretty serious bang for your buck- NISMO coilovers - overpriced, not as low, not as much added grip, generally nowhere near as good as they ought to be- JIC coilovers - a couple variants, a bit more pricey than K-Sports, but arguably a bit better; the FLT A2s are awesome, but you have to be willing to pay and unless you need a lot of adjustability, I wouldn't bother

IMO, the choice would be between a Koni+Springs setup or the K-Sports. I've heard of TEINs wearing out too quickly, and you don't get any better performance for the same price as the other two setups ($600-700).

Exhaust: go with a full catback, make sure it has a quality straight-through resonator and muffler and it won't be buzzy or too loud - BRM, HKS, NISMO, to name a few

Intake: You'll only suck up water with a CAI if you literally submerge your front bumper. I've had one for 3 1/2 years now and driven through some pretty serious rains and minor flooding without incident, and my car has a Koni/Eibach setup making it pretty low.

Spark plug wires will do nothing performance-wise. They're basically useless unless you have a bunch of mods and use an aftermarket ignition system.

Anyway, a proper intake/exhaust combo will net you 10hp or so. Most of the gain you'll notice is in throttle response and general peppiness.

NTN pretty much covered the bases.

But yeah I would say that you need the correct seat rails for the Spec. I have Corbeau seats and brackets for my Spec and I had no problems with lining the brackets up. You could also just go the old school way and just fabricate some brackets.

As for the Diamond plate floor mats, you will likely have to go the custom oute there and real diamond plate metal is pricey. I have seen them in other Sentras but I think they were custom made.

Thank you very much for your suggestions...i will probably use ur recommendations on the suspension. and definitely the eshaust. So do our cars have struts or shocks? and which ones are better for the sport and stiff ride. i really like the way my car felt when i first got it, and want the same feel or better. i just dont know if i should do struts or shocks for that feel?

Regarding the exhaust, i was thinking about putting in a dual exhaust. i want to have a muffler comming out on both sides of the muffler. From a pure styleistic point i think it might look cool. but from a performance point of view willit give me any more power than just one exhaust. How exactly does the exhaust increase HP?

Also regarding the cool air intake. I have read numerous places that there is a box that you can put around that unit to prevent water from getting in.is that true? and also what is a bypass? i think i read that there is a bypass, or sponge or something that you can installin the tubing that will prevent the water from going in.

I really appreciate all your suggestions. THank you for taking the time to help me out.

A dual exhaust has no power advantage and would require custom modification. There are no exhaust hangers on the driver's side, not to mention that the rear bumper has a little groove only on the passenger side.

The box for intakes doesn't work. There is a bypass. It comes standard on the NISMO intake, with others (AEM, for instance) you can order it separately. Again, you'd have to submerge the front bumper in order to pull water in. Since air is less dense than water, if any part of the filter/intake point is not submerged, then it will pull air.

A strut is simply the term for a spring-wrapped-shock assembly. The Sentra does use a strut setup. So a coilover would replace the entire strut in one fell swoop, while a shock/spring combo would require that you put the spring on the shock to make the strut. Either way the install isn't hard.

i have some brand new TEIN lowering springs for SPEC-V. These are great quality. I have a 240 so i cant use them. They will give your car better handling and they look great too. You just put them on your stock stuts. Only $150
