Tried using this on a small portion of my top and I didn't really notice a difference. How much of the stuff do you use per unit area? Any general tips?

(You use the side of the spong opposite the blue side, right? )

But it doesn't! This crap just gets absorbed into the sponge, so spreading the stuff barely covers any area. And the area I used the stuff on looks just like it did before. Not to mention the sponge that came with it + top = an excruciating sound. I'm either using it wrong, or this stuff sucks.

Hmm...

"Forever Black Black-Top is literally a black dye in an easier-to-control gel form that re-colors the vinyl and creates a deep, black luster. Black-Top should only be used on vinyl convertible tops, bimini tops, and tonneaus. It is not recommended for fabric."

I've read that 303 works well. I think this is it... ?

Crap....I'll see if this stuff washes out or if it's even noticeable tomorrow. I'll check out 303 though. I'm kinda surprised though, I got the idea from zerothread?id=99889

I'm a big fan of the Sharpie marker. I used it to dye the white stitching on the top black. Get a few king sized ones from Staples, and you got yourself a new top.

You don't think that'd have adverse reactions with the sun?

Just re-marker it when it fades.

I don't see an issue with Sharpie-ing the stitching, but doing the whole top would not be a good idea.
