I would LOVE to know. I've spent weeks trying to get the ASCD to work on some swapped verts to no avail. If you want to mail me at tenkawa_akito@hotmail.com that would be cool. Or we can do a write up to put in the vert forum kind of like my 5 speed swap faqBTW, i deleted your post of this in the SR forums. It's more of a vert specific deal, but once you get a write up posted about it, i'll add it to the SR FAQ sticky

Nice work!!! Please do share. I've got an RB20, but I would guess the procedure is relatively similar. I'd really like to have cruise as well.

I started this project yesterday after driving on the highway for six hours and finished it today. I converted my convertible to 5 speed a while back and just made it where my top worked. Also, make sure that when you swapped the 5 speed, you connected the brake kill switch (for lack of a proper name), that turns off cruise control when you press on the brake pedal. After I swapped my SR in I decided it would be nice to have. First I swapped the SR throttle body with the KA throttle body. The SR's never came with cruise control and thus they do not have another throttle pulley for the cruise control. It is necessary to do this. When you change the throttle body use the KA TPS and just change the connector or just directly connect the wires. They should be the same color and it should work. For the coolant line on the throttle body, I just connected the two hoses with a piece of pipe and did not run it through the KA throttle body. I connected the speed signal wire from the cruise control module to the ECU. If you do not know how to do this, here is a link with pictures. http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=182123 Now for the inhibitor switch wiring. In the wiring there is a wire that completes the circuit. This is the black wire. Depending on which wire it is connected with, that tells you car "what gear it is in." On the connector, the green wire is used for reverse lights. I just wired that to the reverse switch in the transmission so that it worked how it was supposed to. The blue wire is to tell the car that it is in park or neutral, which for convertible owners, allows the top to work. The yellow wire tells the car that it is in drive and this is what allows the cruise to work. None of these can be connected at the same time or the cruise will not work. The reverse is fine as long as it is wired into the switch for the transmission. In order to get the top to work and get the cruise to work you need to make a switch. Only one will be able to work at a time. I am cheap and just cut out the overdrive switch in the stock auto shifter and used this. That is what I did and everything worked fine for me...I hope it works for you too. As of now my clutch pedal kill switch does not work but it'll work for now.

Looks excellent! I'm gonna see what might be done about your switch for the park wiring/drive wiring. I bet we may be able to incorporate that switch into something else to streamline it a bit. From the looks of it, you have to manually get out of the car and complete that circuit with the chopped off OD switch. I have a nagging feeling that it may be possible to have the cruise on switch on the dash do the same function.

Yes...I do have to get out of the car and pop the hood to change it from top mode to cruise mode...if that's what you would call them. I just wanted to get it working and so this is how I set it up for now. By the way, the switch just needs to be on the blue wire for the top. The yellow wire for the cruise to work can be on all the time, just when you try to incorporate the top with that, it tells the vehicle it is park and drive and it will not work.

"For the coolant line on the throttle body, I just connected the two hoses with a piece of pipe and did not run it through the KA throttle body. " can you explain that in more detail?

Coolant runs through the throttle body...which is not necessary unless you live in a really cold climate...so for the coolant line on the throttle body, i just used a piece of transmission coolant line and cut it and bent it to connect the two rubber hoses that used to connect to the throttle body...

Just a small update to something I've been thinking of lately, if you solder the green/orange on the back of the top up/down switch to a voltage source (an ignition source would be best). All you would have to do is splice the wire for drive (Br/W from what I see in the service manual) to the G/L wire at the inhibitor to make the cruise work without needing a rocker switch
