Looks excellent.

How much of a weight difference between the KA24 and the VH45? I would think maybe 75 lbs.

There's no replacement for displacement. I use to like those 240sx in the 90's, and I always thought it needed more power. Now with the VH45, that's not a problem. Any big change in the whieght distribution?

the motor weighs ~80-100 lbs than a ka24de. but a little more weight up front helps the drifting. not that it matters, with the vh up front it`s got enough power to make it do whatever you want it to. we plan on using this car as a test bed for some more vh/g50 performance options. we`ll keep the Q forum up to date on what we come up with.

Do you care to offer up any wireing details? I am doing the same thing with my s13 but adding turbo's.

Care to share any info?

The wiring is really simple actually. You'll want to cut up the stock s13 engine harness and keep the connectors that connect under the dash and also the part of the harness that runs along the passanger fender to the fuse/relay box. You'll also need the stock q45 harness with the connectors that connect under the dash. Just run the stock q45 harness in its stock location and run it through the hole in the firewall where the s13 harness would normally go. S13 and Q45 holes are very close. Bring the s13 fuse/relay box part of the harness together with the q45 harness just before the hole.

After that its just a matter of matching up the wires from each harness by going through the wiring diagrams. There are some extra relays on the q45 that I bypassed and just hooked to extra power wires that were on the s13 part of the harness. I think the only wire that wasnt just a splice afair was oil pressure switch.

How hard it is depends on your skill level. It's by no means a bolt in affair. There is a lot of custom fabrication that needs to be done, especially if you want the manual trans.

Some of the fab work required includes:-notch framerail for alternator-weld new engine mounts on the crossmember-replace and move up the brake booster-notch tension rod bracket for ps pump-modify exhaust manifolds to move them closer to the block (this is the worst part)

Obviously it can be done but you need to have a welder and time or at least money to pay someone who does.

awesome car mate!!!!

I'm glad you said that the hardest part was the exhaust manifolds. this was the reason i went turbocharged as there was just NO room in the S12

Custom transmission adapter welded to the transmission and a z32 flywheel with a small spacer.

estimate on what that cost you?trying to figure out if it would be feasible to do something like this in under, say, $2007 dollars

Clutch master was no issue at all. LHD. Yes, the hood requires cutting. We're still working on a nice solution to cover up the hole. $2007 would be a stretch but it all depends on where you get your parts.

do you have any pics of the motor mounts? I don't know if thats proprietary or anything but I'm swapping a 45 into my s13 so it would be helpful.

How much more does the VH weigh compared to the KA?I think the VH is a great swap if your doing Straight line racing. I wanna see some vids plus the faces of mustang owners getting their *** handed to them :-)

its about 50 pounds more then the KA, and as you can see in the video is great for drifting too

Any dyno numbers yet?

The new engine mounts were built because the stock mounts didnt fit between the s13 and vh45. The motor is as far back as it can go without doing something to the firewall.

No dyno numbers yet. We're getting our new Dyno Dynamics dyno in early August. We plan on doing lots of dyno runs and dyno tuning the ecu. We'll keep everyone posted.

Line up? It fits on the stock s13 auto trans mount if that's any indication. The shifter assembly had to be modified to get the shifter in a better location.
