Lemme ask you why you boxxed in the wheel well area in the engine bay?midnightsliding wrote:yes the engine is mounted in the car. .
ahaha not unless I actually do the swap, which has some potential right now. I assume you will run a standalone? Which are your going with? If you don't run standalone who is doing your wiring? I would really like to keep the nissan ecu, just for reliability and cold start issues, but I don't care too. hehemidnightsliding wrote:also G50Q are u planing on drifitng your also? if so this will be great...

Thanks a lot man. We'll see about the SR, I'm at a weird point with this car simply because the previous owner hacked the chassis wiring up a bit. So, far I've managed to fix 99% of it. But it still bugs the crap out of me. The motor runs good, it's got the usual rough idle, but i've been thinking about just switching to the '94+ fuel rail and injectors because i don't feel like replacing injectors anymore...lolmidnightsliding wrote:yeah it looks really good. A+ on wheel fitment. you shold go SR and will start a vip/drift/dori takeover... im inlove with ur car i might jsut repaint mine and leave stock bumpers for now i was goignto go with either memfab. or JP areo kits. but ur looks so well.
I'm sure he'll offer some additional info, but he's removing a normally aspirated VH45DE and replacing it with a turbo charged RB25DET. Which will also allow for much more tuning options as the after market for the RB is both greater as well as more available, even though the VH came to the US and RB didn't.louiegz wrote:OK, call me an idiot, but what is the advantage of taking out the 4.5 liter V8 to put in a 2.5 liter V6. It's not that I'm hating on your project. I'm just wondering on the pros for doing this. How much power are you going to wind up with. I guess you'll have the best mpg of any Q here. Hell, when I went to Ireland my first time, 5 years ago, I saw a BMW 730i.
Probably negligible as the RB is a cast iron block, versus the VH's aluminum one. Maybe he's got some details on both motor=transmission combo weights?louiegz wrote:Oh! I get it now, and yes, it does sound like an interesting project. I also read that he's putting a manual transmision. That would be cool. Is there also a weight advantage with the smaller engine?

Well, think of it like this:louiegz wrote:OK, call me an idiot, but what is the advantage of taking out the 4.5 liter V8 to put in a 2.5 liter V6. It's not that I'm hating on your project.
