not to burst your bubble, but just the fact that its a 12 year old car with 32k miles on it sends of some alarm signals.

Thats an average of 2.7k miles a year. You could put more miles on a car driving it around a parking lot .

On the other hand, anyone who is trying to roll back the odometer to sell the car would probably not have chosen such an unrealistic number for a 12 year old car. Which makes me think it could actually be legit.

For the sake of argument, let's say the mileage is legit, if you're getting it for only 1.5k, then there has to be something TERRIBLY wrong with the car.

Just use some common sense when you look at the car. At 32k, even for a 12year old car, the thing should be IMMACULATE. Especially the interior.... it should be showroom fresh. If you look at it and it doesn't strike you as a showroom quality car, it's probably a lie. Even after 12 years, a car with only 32k miles on it should still keep well and should look and drive like new.

With such a great deal, a $14 report shouldn't break the bank.

OR, you could check some recent threads..there were a couple other guys running reports for members.

I suspect foul play..

actually, its a long story and i didnt fill you guys in. it is a old man who owns the car, he bought it (yes he was old when he did) and only bought it to get from home to the store. which is right up the road. His daughter died and lived in cali so he needed to get over there and thats all he had of value to sell. he is too old to be driving and he knows it. thats why he let it go. my friend Jame's dad is a machanic and has the car at his house now. the only thing wrong with it is a cracked radiator, but the sponsor already took care of it. the radatior cracked because the old guy decided to fill it with Moutian Dew because he couldnt find a bottle of water lol. (god i love old people). anyways. i suspeced foul play too when i heard about the miles, but then i thought back. my grandmother has a 1990 corrola which she bought only to get back and forth from the store... and to this day it only has 40K miles on it. and she drives it on a da to day basis. my friends father took a look at it over and over for the last 3days and found nothing wrong but that one problem. The interior is perfect and so is the exterior. no dents or dings. this car is in showroom condition. it was never parked outside of his garage. The old guy didnt have a clue how much it was worth. so he sold it to my friend for what he needed. he even told james "i know you are gettin one hell of a deal on this, please treat it the way i did and keep it looking great" also james has driven it a few times and so has his father. and james said he cant feel the slightest feeling of wear on the clutch. so i think its ledgit. the only thing i wanna run the carfax for is just to be sure the miles are correct. sorry i didnt make the full story clear from the start. hope this helps your views

Haha a new way to get back at someone. Pour mountain dew down their radiator.

edit: You might wanna check inside the block to make sure that the sugars in the mountain dew didn't caramelize or anything...cuz that would be bad.
