I know, it is rumored that nissan designed the engine for the two purposes I stated above but then kept it at 2 liters and put it in their production cars.

yeah, my friend has one of them... the engine looks a little different though... no turbo of course and it has this crazy ignition system with 2 plugs per cyl... we're gonna fix it all up this summer, hopefully bring it back to it's former glory :D

that would be the old CA18E, CA18ET or CA20E depending on the model, some came with a VG30E. I once owned a notchback model with the FJ20ET, real buttshaker with a ton of power, shouldn't have junked it.

well I know stock they came 205hp in intercooled form. The ones that show up at drag meets up in mainland are in the 400-500hp neighborhood and put down low 11s-high 12s, some 10s but rarely. Back in the day they were brutal killers but technology has allowed CA18s to edge them out and SRs to leave them behind. Still a wicked mill that garners respect from those in the know.

as light as that car is you would need minimum 8" slicks to put it down.

supposedly the FJ is probably the strongest 4 cylinder engine ever built (in terms of being indestructable - not nesscessarily power)
