What would you do with 9K?

The Sibling Rivalry thread got me thinking about how I would spend 9K to upgrade/update my Z.

So, with $9K how would you modify your car beyond stock and still live with it in the capacity that it currently fills. Members with a weekend toy will have more latitude than will those (like me) with the Z as a daily driver. We get a few non-Z33/Z34 drivers in here so just substitute a 350Z with what you're currently driving if you want to play along.

Wheels & Brakes
350Z Track V.1 Wheels..........................$600.00
Racing Brake ET 700 Pads (f)...................$159.95
Racing Brake ET 700 Pads (r)...................$108.12
Racing Brake Steel Braided Lines...............$118.00
Racing Brake 2 Piece Rotors (f).................$592.26
Racing Brake 2 Piece Rotors (r).................$580.08

Driveline
Exedy Clutch, Flywheel, Pressure Plate.........$1,000.00
NISMO Pilot Bushing /Needle Bearing...........$20.00
Steel Braided Clutch Line.........................$40.00
Cro-Moly Pivot Ball.................................$20.00
Quaife HLSD........................................$1,040.00
3.9 Final Drive & Install kits 1 & 2...............$1,220.00

Motordyne Triplets
Motordyne MREV Manifold.........................$485.00
Motordyne 5/16" Spacer...........................$299.00
Motordyne Shockwave TDX2.......................$1,585.00

Everything in bold as already been done.

Keen-eyed members will notice there are no suspension modification in there. There's nothing out there that doesn't drop my car. While I'm not opposed to drop, my driveway is...
Image
....that's my clearance to get up my driveway, a little less than an inch. I'd need a remote, in-car setup like Tein EDFC, Tanabe TEAS, Cusco E-Con, Bilstein Remote Ride Control or something else to make the car livable on a daily basis. I'm not getting out each and every time I leave or arrive home to wrench on a set of coils. :tisk: And the $9K limit doesn't allow for that. I suppose I could tweak some numbers (drop the Motordyne bits, at least the pricey exhaust?) and see what I can do. I'm still under the $9K budget and playing with numbers but I wanted to get the ball rolling and give all of you hooligans something to think about. :)

So, in this theoretical exercise how would each of you would modify your cars.

With $9K, I will get GTM supercharger for my HR and $2k in the pocket with a diy install. If nothing changes in the next year, it might be a reality. :D

Showoff. :poke: But, I included all the non-oem stuff I've added.

Haven't you already spent more than $9K on your car? :) If I didn't count what I've already put on I might be able to slide solme Bilstein PSSs and their remote kit just under the $9K limit!

The motordyne mrev/spacer are definitely high on the list. There are so many more exhausts out there for half the price that will still provide the gains that will be well above satisfactory. I know you don't want to lower your vehicle, but I must "push" the BC Racing coilovers. I replaced the nismo s tune suspension on my G with these and I can't be any happier. I can get the exact stance that I want and ride in stock luxury form or crank up the stiffness and make it handle like a dream. I really think you will not be disappointed if you decided to go with the coils. Add in some hotchkis sways and call it a day.

Brake upgrade first
set of r comps/with its own wheels
rollbar+ harness bar + harnesses

Then with whatever is left over, start the engine mods:

The stock suspension is very liveable for both street/track. One of the better mods I've done is invest in a tow vehicle. with the worry eliminated about getting your car home from a track event if something goes wrong, you go faster...

Can I use it to pay off my loan??? :bigthumb:

I would do the Akebono 370Z brake system upgrade for sure...from there I'm not sure. I like the Greddy Twin turbo kit or maybe go for light weight body components painted to match the color of my car. Some engine dress up like powder coating the strut bar wrinkle black, or the engine cover to match my car. I like the idea of having a sleeper, even though I drive a z.

I'd need more than $9k to finish my wish list tho....I'm sure most of you guys are the same way

Oh boy would 9k be amazing right now!

I'd buy a new front bumper since the one i have got a little damaged being shipped to me. Then i would get my TD Shockwave V2, ART pipes, and stillen headers. and then anything i had left over would go into the start of saving up for TT and built motor
