Wassup yall
I got a light on my dash that says Key also picture of a key.
I changed battery in the FOB and also plugged it in the FOB hole, had my mechanic tried to clear it but still wouldn't you away.
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

Well, what works with the FOB? Can you lock and unlock all doors, set the alarm, start the car, etc? Test each button on the FOB. Then test with Key. If you have the extra FOB or Key, try to lock your keys in the car. See if all is working as it should and if the light stays on after all of that. If the light is still on, lemme know. I think there's something in the owner or factory service manual about this.

How did your mechanic try to clear it? The FSM says that key illumination signifies a problem with the Intelligent control unit or some associated short circuit. Any electrical work on the car lately?

All the buttons on both key fob work properly, no electronical work done recently. I had the car in for tune up, my mechanic says he has top of the line scanner but it wouldoes not clear. Also had the airbag recall done but i cant remember when ther Key ligh indicator poped, its so tiny barely noticed it. Dont know what to do at this point other than stealership.

Well good. The car has about 16 electronic modules which could be scanned and one of which is "Intelligent Key." A code (Uxxxx or Bxxxx) is certainly lurking there, and his scanner if high-end should be able to pull it.

A list of the parts with modules that support scanning:
1. METER/M&A
2. BCM
3. ICC/ADAS
4. MULTI AV
5. IPDM E/R
6. AIR PRESSURE MONITOR
7. INTELLIGENT KEY
8. PRECRASH SEATBELT
9. AUTO DRIVE POS
10. 4WAS(MAIN)/RAS/HICAS
11. LANE CAMERA
12. ADAPTIVE LIGHT
13. ENGINE
14. ABS
15. AIR BAG
16. TRANSMISSION

Well, the quickest diagnoses should be with a Consult-III computer tool. The stealership will have one for sure, maybe your mechanic has one and maybe they need to use the FSM in combination with that computer to know how to get codes from your car. You can try to do your own diagnoses by reviewing the Factory Service Manual. I gave it a quick shot, but man, I can't find a thing about FOBs or Keys anywhere! I'm not sure your car even has Keys! :) Okay, Maybe I need to look longer, but after twenty minutes of table of contents, index of terms, EC chapter, SC chapter, PG chapter, I need to pass the torch. Here is a link to all the chapters of the FSM, you can browse through it all, or download it to your device for each chapter. If you start with the FWD chapter, you'll get a table of contents (no mention of keys or fobs though). Good luck and please keep us posted.

Costee has a nice list, maybe he has found the chapter we should be looking at?

You'll find it in the BL section, pages 44-126. See specifically, pages 56-59, 81-82.
However, if you say the fob functions well maybe the last repairs caused a little breach that triggered the code. All that's required then is to find a tool that can turn the light off.
