those ebay guides look fine to me. they are the same looking as the nissan ones. both nissan and the ebay set (that link shows a set that looks high quality) have the same designed push-clip plastic guides that clip to metal rails. but if there are molded type(plastic guide material bonded to the metal), those are the best quality to get. maybe nissan doesn't make it? i know they make it for the L-series bonded, but the later engines they go cheap...

you can see individual parts here.

Interesting they include the timing chain as that is seldom bad, but nice they do include an oil pump chain and tensioner.

Q45tech has posted the chain manufacturer and how it was developed for the VH45DE. I would be surprised if another source could even match the qulaity of the OEM provider as evidenced by its longevity.

Still, this kit is better than ignoring the problem.

I wish I had seen this before I spent a small fortune. Well, it wasn't too bad, Joe is a trusted source and I also got hoses.

What is your mileage? Personally I would do the guides, tensioners, and oil pump chain. Leave the timing chains alone unless you have high miles. Just my opinion.

I'd always seen them, but I didn't trust them. I was never able to see a complete list of the parts that were included in the eBay kit. I ordered mine from IOS and purchased replacement hoses and valve cover stuff. I figured since most of the engine would be exposed, I might as well get some work done.
