SoCal End of the Year Meet (Dec. 12)

This year is looking to turn out real good. I got scolded for mass posting in other NICO Forums so I'm not too sure how to spread this throughout NICO by any other way besides sig links, word of mouth, partial thread jacking, and emails.

This meet is progressing real well but we still need members to contribute to the food aspect of this BBQ. Since the date has been set, we will now use the space next to the names to list what is being brought by each member. Some items we will need:

Cooking utensils, Table Cloths. Let me know if you think of anything else.

This meet will be hosted accordingly:

Sign me up, its my dads Bday but he will probably be doing something which his wife.

I am all for the meet with these Gen people. I guess we can throw up a Nico tent and BBQ and enjoy. Just have to let the Gen side know to pitch in food etc.

I just want the Doc to be cool with everything, this is kind of his big going away party before he leaves to the east coast.

Ya that's why I would opt for us to have a mini (ish) meet before meeting up with the Gen guys.

When we are with the gen guys I really doubt we will be able to BBQ or anything because that is taking place in an Albertsons / Home Depot parking lot. And yes to all the other people who don't talk to Doc much, he is moving back to the East Coast in February so this may be the last NICO / AC meet with Doc.

We can wait until it gets a little closer in time but if you guys will mention what you can bring that would be great. I will edit the 1st post accordingly.

And ya last year on our way to San Diego it drizzled a bit but when we finally hit the park it was nice (pretty windy though). So I was looking at places to have a BBQ in the San Diego area and the best place I came across was Mission Bay Park, after a minute I realized that's where we had it last year.

So if it's okay with you guys, how about we have it in the same location as last year. Us OC/LA guys can meet up somewhere and leave by about 9. It should take us about an hour or an hour and a half to get to San Diego. We can start the meet around 11 or 12 and hang out there until about 5 then meet up with the Gen guys. If anyone has any ideas / oppositions / qualms / etc let me know so I can plan accordingly

We could do December 5. The only reason why I put the 18th is so that we could combine forces with the Gen guys and have a massive turnout by the end of the night.

Let me know what you guys think about having it on the 5th compared to the 18. The two main people this meet should accommodate would be Adidas and Doc (sorry for singling out), because Adidas is getting rid of his coupe, so this may be his last meet with NICO, and Doc is going to the east, so this may be his.

I understand we can't fit everybody's schedule but we will see what date the best turnout should be. This isn't all up to me, it's up to the majority so let me know.

I just realized the 18th is on a Friday so it will be difficult for people to make it out that early without getting work / school off. Once again you guys let me know and we will see what the date should be. I will keep a tally kept either on my personal computer and/or the 1st post

Of course I'm in... and I like the idea of meeting up, kicking it as a fam first, and then heading over to the gen meet... I'll tell you what... I don't care what kind of mods those cats have... NO ONE will have my bumper.. hey, instead of meeting so early, what about starting our meet around 2:00pm.... that way, after a few hours and some food.. we can head over... I just don't know if folks are gonna wanna be involved in a car meet that lasts from 9:00am until 9:00pm... just a thought though... either way, I'm in!!!!

I figured that too, but since you mentioned you wanted to meet us up here and cruise down to SD with us, Blake would probably not be staying at your house again. Therefore we need to have some San Diego guys hold the spot for us, parking wasn't so much an issue last year but some cars were scattered a bit. I just wanted to make sure we had sufficient parking for us to be together.

Bummer, well so far this looks like it's going to happen on the 12th but keep sending me your info and we'll know for sure.

Keep in mind, if we do this any day besides the 18th, then the Gen guys won't be included. We can let them know, but they are decided on doing it on the 18 already

I really wanted to roll with the A/C's on the 18th... well I may still end up going to the one on the 18th in addition to whatever date folks decide on... two meets in one day = WIN

well, there's Palomar going down to Julian.. but it aint no b*tch mountain bruh... last two runs and there was a complete spin out on the first one, and a partial spin out on the second one...

if folks don't have upgraded suspension, I would NOT suggest the palomar run!

there's only so many A/C's in socal Rob... the last meet was so successful because Shawn spread the word and invited folks from a NUMBER of forums... if you wnat this to just be a NICO event or an A/c event.. the turnout will only be so big... and since folks are meeting over at the other spot later that evening, it may be a good idea to extend this to the other forums anyway... just a thought

...actually, I'm getting married at the end of November (the 29th) and we'll be driving down the west coast for our honeymoon.
We'll be in the SF area from Dec 6th to 10th, then we'll be staying in Newport from the 11th to the 18th/19th, so either the 12th or the 18th gets my vote!

I have some friends on some other forums (not nissan/infinity). Let me know if you guys want this to be a strictly Altima Coupe meet, or a strict NICO meet, a strict Nissan/Infinity meet, or a range of cars.

I don't want to be mr dictator of the meet making all the decisions, so I would like to know your guys' input on this as well...

And so far it looks like this meet will be happening on December 12

It's around that time again and I was trying to figure out how to go about setting this up. If you guys want a BBQ let me know. If you want a park let me know. Some people in the Gen Sec are talking about a meet on Dec. 18 with Nissan, Supra, IS, and various other models. If you want to join them instead of having our own that could turn out for a huge meet. But it's located in a parking lot with business' so I don't know if we will get in trouble with lack of permits or whatever (issue last year).

Their meet is in San Diego so what I was thinking, was to have OC and LA meet up somewhere again, drive to San Diego, have a BBQ, play a little football/baseball or something. Then around 6 cruise over to this meet and kick it there for the rest of the night.

do you want to go ahead and change this to the 12th officially??? i will be going to both of them, but it looks like the 12th is the best day for EVERYONE!

let's get a date set in stone so that folks can take off work if they need to...

for the record, this day is almost 1 year to the date of when the last meet happened and my car got broken into... i'm drinking red bull all night and staying up all night...I really don't want to have to shoot someone this year! Besides, it took me 9.5 months to get my gun back last time

... if I get my gun taken this time, its gonna be for a reason...

dude, definately come... don't worry if you don't have any mods, these meets allow you to see what all is available, and give you ideas on what things will look like on your car... plus there will be free food!!!

I can't edit the thread title, if a mod wouldn't mind changing the date to December 12th that would be great.
