Finally decided to do the swap I have been wanting. Start with the car

Image

This is what I traded for the car a year ago.

I miss it. But I like my z more. But with it only being an N/A, it doesn't have much power, but is still fun. After tearing everything apart I'm now here.

And a box of random parts, harness, ecu, intake pipes

Car is all ready and gonna get put away until the good stuff gets here.

Motor is a smallblock chevy. 406ci 4bolt main, ported and polished double Hump heads, 2.02in/1.60 exhaust. Stock 400 crank, stock rods, weiand intake manifold, edelbrock carb.

350turbo, manual valve body, shift kit. Also have a 2800 stall converter

As soon as mounts are in we will be having some fun.
I will have some photos along the way.

I'm guessing the oil pan will need some modification too to fit right?

Lol, steelies are dope, stock altima wheels actually. with out the hubcaps.
Im gonna burn the crap outta them.

Oil pan looks like its gonna clear, however, I do not believe my headers are going to clear the steering gearbox.
I will find out once my mounts are done.

Will definatly keep updated.

Yeah headers will have to modified, every single SBC/BBC swap I've ever seen in a Z32 has had to have the headers redone, get a hold of shannon furgeson, he did a BBC (IIRC) swap and a very clean one at that he may be able to give you some pointers.

Yes, his build inspired me.

I think I will be able to use some v8 s10 swap headers.
they look perfect.

well the machine shop still has my block, rods and pistons. they better have it done monday becasue I have 4 days off next week. and its all dedicated to the car. My oil pan is almost done, Believe header issue is solved as well. I have 95% of parts. Driveshaft and downpipes will be the last of my worries when i get there.
Deadline is my Bday of Novemer 30th. I think I will be done before then though. keeping my fingers crossed.
And the car is still tagged and insured. so once its done i dont have to worry about that crap. :)

There's 1/4in. between the water pump and radiator. The motor doesn't move a bit though.

I know there are so many wheel threads. But they seem to be for big wheels. I have a wheel question.

I am looking at some 15in. wheels by 10in wide. and offset offered in +25mm and -25mm and 0mm.

Im thinkin 15x10 +25mm. Or maybe 0.
So, would 10in be to wide.

Talking about rear only.
Thanks.

Width is width, offset is offset. Doesn't matter what the diameter of the wheels are. One thing I will tell you, however, is that you won't clear even the stock brakes with 15's. The stock 16's barely cleared.

They will clear rear, but I don't see you having 16/17/18 up front and 15's in the rear. Not to mention tires are only getting harder to find for smaller wheels.

^^ Aaron I have put 15" wheels that were off a Z31 cleared on my car all the way around... They just look goooofy and it doesnt show case the Z32's brakes

I imagine the only 15" wheel that will fit would be the Z31

I ordered some headers last night. I think they may fit without any modification.

these are what I went with.

Dang. I can get them in 17 but only 8in wide. :frown:

So i may have to go with 17x8 +20mm rear, 17x7 +15mm front, i really wanted some 10in wide, but i love these wheels.

being able to see the brakes would not bother me that much. I really want 10 wide in the back. Dang.
