I have a 2008 nissan rogue and the check engine light came on. i changed the gas cap for a new one. My friend at work put the scanner on and it gave me a P0444 code. Says emissions valve open circuit something. I then looked it up online and it said Purge Volume Solenoid Valve needed to be replaced. Does this make sense >? How hard is it to remove and replace and where is it located >?

We also had the PO444 code and replaced the vent control valve. It did not fix the issue. I dug around a bit more online and saw Nissan service bulletin NTB10-018, I found that this engine code can be caused by broken wiring at the EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve connector. I hope this helps someone else, who like us, jumped on the vent control valve as the cause for the engine code.

I got a quote to repair the wiring harness for $140 including parts and labor. Vent control valve was an easy plug and play DIY fix but the wiring harness looks a little more involved and being short on time, we are just taking it to a local shop.
