I want to slap on some white LED rear turn signals and I want to lose the amber side markers and go with LED side markers. Anyone have a link for these?

Hi steelcity,

If you want the brightest and best in my opinion, LED (in your case, white) rear turn signals you can get for your car, you can purchase and install the V-led V3 Triton LED System.

Here is the 5K color (crystal white hue): http://www.vleds.com/v3-w-5k-3096.html
Here is the 6K color (slight hint of blue): http://www.vleds.com/v3-w-6k-3140.html
Then choose base adapter: 7443 7440 | 1 Pair + 10.00.

You can search on the forum/FAQs for the How-To from Larz how to install the rear turn signals, and my impressions with pictures and video of my Amber V-Led V3 Triton rear turn signals are on the same thread. Once you find the FAQs, you can find my How-To regarding installing the front turn signals/DRL/front light switchback system if you choose to upgrade the front as well.

Regarding the LED side markers, you'll need to install resistors if you use non-canbus-proof LED lights. I use Amber canbus-proof V-leds for my side markers, which mean I do not have to use resistors for the side markers. The V-Led canbus-proof side markers are not for sale currently, so I found some you can use. I would recommend this one:

Select "natural" or "cool white".

This one should be compatible as well:

Hope this helps. :luck:

Thanks for the links @ 06m45 and moedawg. I've already done all my interior lights and have the HID's for my fog lights and low beams (hint of blue in front). Have my led's for my reverse and license plates. I'm not gonna bother with my high beams. Now I am just missing the side markers, parking lights and my front and rear turn signals. After that, I am done with lighting. I just want to get it over with already. I just noticed that there is and eyelid strip too. That's a must for me now too.

You're welcome. Did you purchase LEDs for your glovebox, vanity mirrors and take out the black footwell lenses and replace the incandescents with LEDs?

What LEDs did you use for your reverse? I have gone through several, and the brightest that I have found that I currently use are these: http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-15-led-hi ... -pair.html

To be honest, I went to a shop and got everything done. I don't know which brand they used. But they're real bright. I haven't done the vanity mirrors, glovebox or floor. I probably should though. Where do I find these side markers 06m45?

Sorry to hijack... I had to purchase a new side marker because I had condensation in it, $20 on E bay, seller was directauto.
I asked 06m45 the same question and he modified it himself. He said he used a small drill to clear out the amber inside the lens. I ended up practicing on the lens I replaced and it worked of course. I haven't applied to my car, everything is still amber but will change all signals to white in the future.

so they don't make clear ones? you have to modify them? I'm just scared of screwing it up.

If they make em, I couldn't find em. That's how I found out 06m45 mod'd it. If you remove the lens from the fender and look in it you'll see what needs to be done. Not hard and if you screw up its a cheap fix.

Bear in mind that if you remove the amber coloured piece, you will also be removing the little chrome piece that hides the bulb and your bulb will be visible through the lens. I may still do this mod, but I will have to use an Amber coloured bulb.
In Florida by law, all turn signals (front, rear, or side) MUST be Amber and a white coloured bulb is a $73 citation if the Police decide to make a point about it.

Not sure but think its the same law here in Cali. Gonna have to look it up...
My 95 240SX has factory white front signals but I was never bothered for them.

Sounds like I'll have to attempt it. What kind of drill is it that I will need to do this? any other type of tool?

It sucks that Florida has that law Larz.
