install is not hard at all, just takes a little time.

I took it to a shop that sold me a slim kit that has warranty for 2yr with install for $140 (reg price is $189 + tax).

They even cover if only one side lights up which happens to alot of M's, the hid kit is so good they didn't even use a relay kit. So far so good with no problems at all.

06M45.
Since you still have the fog lense how much farther does the HID throw the light, than the factory set up.
also did you go with 35watt of a 55watt. On some sites the reccommend the 35 because the 55 get too hot for small spaves like fogs.

thanks

I wanted to have very little blue so I installed a 6000k 35watt kit. true 55watt would run too hot.

I don't know how far but take a look at this pic to get an idea:

as you can see they light up very nice.

my headlights are also 6000k.

55w should only be used for the headlight. 35w only for smaller lights like fog lights.

Another thing to remember is 55w washes out the color a bit.

So a 55w 8000k kit looks like a 35w 6000k kit. Always get 1000k or 2000k more if you are getting 55w ballasts.

I'm really wanting to change my lights in my M35. I see 55w for headlight and 35w for fogs. Any thoughts where I can purchase some from? Do they sell the headlights and fog lights in a whole or are they separate buys? I just need to know what to look for when I'm purchasing cause I'm clueless lol. I've just been reading along trying to learn. Also, when I finally do buy lights where should I go to get them installed? I'm in Seattle

Yes...but why would you buy them there when you can get them for the same price for a much more reputable seller (DDMTuning).

It's all been described many times in this thread and a couple of others.

Reading is key. Sorry for being blunt.

Well I went to purchase the lights from DDMtuning and there were a couple fields that I didn't know what to select. Does DDM have the set up for low beams and fog lights?

Yes. Many of us are running DDM kits.

Just leave the fields that aren't needed blank. All you need is a 35w or 55w ballast and specific bulb size/temperature. That's it. You don't need any harnesses, etc.

Shouldn't the "official lighting thread" have the basic and optional lighting configurations for reference? It would be nice, this looks more like Official Aftermarket Lighting Thread.

Sure. I can add that in. Give me a couple of minutes.

EDIT: NVM, I guess I can't edit posts after a certain amount of time has passed.

For anyone interested...here is the bulb specifications for our M's:

No problem. Just so you know though, it's all in the FAQ thread which is stickied.

For the Front and Rear turn signals (992 (7440)), does anyone know if my 2008 M35 Sport is compatible with Standard type or CK type? Im looking on VLEDS and its giving me a choice...theres a way to test it but wanted to see if anyone has done it already. Thanks in advance!

Is there a write up on how to upgrade the fogs to HID?

I read somewhere on the forum that the wheels need to be taken off, is that true?
