She's doing much better now, thx Ray. Honestly, I enjoyed myself so much on Thursday and Friday that I'm really not that upset about missing Saturday and Sunday. Heard you tied the blue evo for second fastest time! That fukcing rocks bro!. Especially in a tired old Miata on blown suspension, WITH a poorly functioning wastegate!

Yeah indeed, kind of a bummer you had to bail, but you're right Thursday and Friday was awesome. Sunday was *perfect* racing weather though.

Beautiful day on Sunday! Friday was pretty sweet too.

Glad you guys all came out. We should figure out a New England event at some point.

I'd be down for that, i'd like to do a real track day. It's really a bummer the Omaha meet didn't work out well.

Limerock might be a good choice for a local track. However, I'm sure a lot of our guys have cars that wouldn't meet the requirements. Our local auto-x guy here is pretty nice and the track is very long. Its just one of those things where commitment to the event is paramount.

Omaha is in the middle of nowhere...

It's either East coast or West coast, BFE is never a good idea.

What criteria would our cars not pass Ray?

Don't most genuine race tracks require at the least a race seat & harnesses? And additionally, roll bars/cages, not blown suspension, worn tires, and more?

Last time I was on a road course the tech inspection wasn't that much different than autocross.. You don't need racing seats and harnesses or roll cages, although roll cages would probably apply to convertibles depending on where you go. Rules on convertibles depends highly on the track and/or who's running the event.

As info. our tech requirements are based on a typical HPDE. I don't envision a problem with most participant cars passing tech. Where I see a potential problem is with the willingness of enough participants to pay the higher cost required to participate. Renting a real road race track like Lime Rock is considerably more expensive than the sweet deal Greg/Bex negotiated for Carlisle's autocross course.

It might be a easier to join in with another club's trackday event like Trackdaze or Audi.

Agreed. Not many people are going to fork over $200 for a day at the track.

In my opinion, $200 to spend a day on the track is a bargain, especially since you get an instructor too if you want...

I think I'm going to do the BMWCCA driving school in June at Putnam Park. $350 for 2 days, seems pretty legit to me.

Definitely agreed. I would LOVE to get my LS8 on a track with some decent tires under it. $200 seems like a very reasonable price, ESPECIALLY with an instructor (I'm really not a very good driver once I'm on a track).

Saturday was a blast too. Lots of awesome track time, and seeing Gordon's Z in person was worth the whole trip.

And purple drank was great! Mohawk Joe can also had some great vodka drinks.

His room smelled significantly better from last year I was told. It still smelled of dead fish or old hookers depending on your point of view.

Just want to pop in and remind everyone that the Universe is an a**. On the days it's not being an a** to me, it's being an a** to someone far less deserving of it.

For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!

We saw Star Trek: Into Darkness last night. Easily best movie of the summer so far. Now I need to find my VHS player and hook it up to my 60" plasma to watch Wrath of Khan.

Morning fellas. I'm looking forwards to the new Star Trek movie.
Headed to Disney this weekend for Star Wars weekend, too. Lando's supposed to be there.

Thanks Ben, the janky Miata put down some pretty quick number. I was pretty happy, especially since it was my only timed lap all weekend.

I ended up making scallops, rice with mushrooms, and red curry for dinner. There were 8lbs of scallops and about 10 cups of rice. Everyone ate the hell out of it- not a grain of rice left.

Indeed, I even scraped the crispy (semi-burnt) rice off the griddle, that was incredible... :)

Ray, I've got a question for you that I thought about this morning. I was thinking about the discussion we had about the whole online dating thing, and while I'm still not totally sold on the idea, I was thinking about the difference between match.com and eharmony.

I know you recommended match to me, is there any particular reason you preferred one or the other?
