Huh? I would think it'd be cheaper to get parts for a run of the mill truck engine, opposed to an LS1....

Do you mean fitting the titan in?

LOL! If you did your research, you would realize its more expensive to find parts for a [not so] "run of the mill truck engine" like the VK compared to an engine with tremendous aftermarket support offered in many different forms and super well known...

Fist off it's already been done. There is a VK56 powered S13. There was a ton of work to be done to that car. just to make the hood close with out a huge cowl the guy had to design and build a intake manifold which is not easy. Plus its so wide the frame rails and firewall are majorly modified.

Its a great build, but the guy who did it was a pro.

Then to what others were saying is when it comes down to aftermarket support there really isn;t any for the VH/VK in comparison to Ford and Chevy V8's. Thats why we go that route.Cant find the build thread anymore but here are a few pics.

money pit. it seems like a good idea in conversation, but in reality, it's a lot of work and a lot of money to pull off. most people will get as far as buying the engine and soon after give up.

i have a friend here in MD thats gonna be doing a 5.6l titan swap into his S14. It gonna be backed up with a Dodge Viper transmission. Last time we talked about it he already had the trans and engine, just needed to make mounts, adapter plates and all that good stuff. He does everything custom including the stuff on his RB swap he did over 5 years ago in a hardbody than in a S13

The Viper T56 input shaft is long and will need to be machined down most likely. I just hope he ready to machine and fabricate away.

For as long as i known him, he love to fabricate things and since he works on race cars (le Mans style) he has access to the tools and equipment.

He believes that set up in his S14 will get him to run atleast a very very low 12 sec 1/4 mileJust to note he also owns a street driven 9 sec 240.

I personally think that a LS swap is easier and alot cheaper but i dont know much on those american engines

I'm not really interested in after market parts, really more so I'm interested in the fact that I can run to a Nissan dealership and pick up parts, instead of getting used parts flown in from japan for six times retail. I mean it's fairly obvious that the Titan doesn't really have an after market scene.......sooo uh yeah, calm down there Vin Diesel

LOL! der hurr
