Me and my dad have been toying around with the idea of installing a cooling panel for the S13 so we can hide the intercooler once I go KA-T.

I checked the prices and they were around $100 So we decided to made a template ourselves (took 2 1/2 hours )and I thought some of you might be interested. We will buy a sheet of aluminum later this week to make the final product. We didn't use an original cooling panel to copy and make our template so it doesn't look the same as those JDM tyte 3 piece cooling panels.

Build your own 240sx cooling panel!

Enjoy, and good luck!

Also make two side covers just like DME cooling panels.

I would be most greatful if you did this Razi. I bought the center peice off ebay for like $35, but it didn't come with the side pieces.

I just looked over your pics and the writing is very light and difficult to read. You should do the next ones in pen.

You just need to see the outlines and the 2 large lines I drew on them for reference.Print them out and match them up, the lines should be easy to see.

I can trace the lines in photoshop or paint in black if that would help.

Edit: I'll see if I can fab up the side pieces. I didn't make them because I don't really need them, I just wanted a middle section to cover up my intercooler.

I won't be needing the pics above since I already have the center peice. I guess I'll try to make a template for the side pieces during winter break. I can't be that hard right...

Yep, and I be Kornaz's Friend. Duce. Sup Razzzzi, long time no see man. Haven't been on NICO much.

Next thing you need to do is get some sheet metal. Here is one me and kornas fabricated.

You need to catch up.

Doing it on paper is one thing, doing it on metal is another. Me and Kornas have perfected the designs. and Stainless Steel plates are comming . I ordered a bunch of new tools and will pick up me supplies tomorrow.

Thanks for the design! =)

Sexy! :DI'm going to paint mine black as well.It should blend in nicely with my dark engine bay.Good work!

Edit: Yeah working with metal is different than paper. My dad is used to bending and making panels so I'll be learning from him, hopefully I don't screw anything up.

While everyone is in a positive mood i think i will ask a noob question.

How does this help the engine or performance? ( not being a smart ***, i just dont understand)

Does it help airflow to the inter cooler and radiator STAY at the inter cooler and radiator? or help keep heat away form the inter cooler?

Very good job by the way!

What do you use to bend the metal?

One Love,

Ghasty

instead of letting air come in the front bumper and just flow wherever, this panel helps the air stay straight, going thru the intercooler, then the radiator, then thru the bay... think of it as a tunnel/duct. makes the most efficiency out of the air coming through
