Ok, so I left off with the bay being painted. Since then a few things have gotten done, and Im getting a lot closer to the first start up!
First we'll start off with the bad:
Rule of thumb- when parking your car for an extended period of time, make sure to check and make sure you arent sitting on an ant bed. The other day I was reassembling the motor, and I went to get a wrench out of my car. When I opened the door, I see literally hundreds of ants inside. No, there was no food. I made sure before hand that there wasn't to prevent this from happening. Funny how things work huh?
So i just said "f**** it", grabbed the wrench, and closed the door. I did't take any pictures until 2 days later. There weren't as many, but you get the idea
So now that that's out of the way, let's move on.
I got the engine 90% reassembled, and then started on the clutch and whatnot.
First, I removed and replaced the rear main seal
Then I replaced the throwout bearing. Here you can see the old and new side by side
Then I picked up my resurfaced flywheel, and reinstalled that. Luckily none of the bolts broke in the process
Then I installed the Fidanza clutch
And finally, I reattached the transmission, painted it, and switched the speed sensor from the ka to the sr
Now, apparently whenever I was pulling the ka out I managed to break the part where the harness plugs into the speed sensor. There were two little matal prongs still sticking out, so I just cut the plug from the sr sensor, soldered 2 wires to the corresponding prongs, and melted the plastic of the plug to what was left of the housing on the ka harness. It's pretty, but it'll do
once that was all done, I started putting the bay back together. I'm sure you all know why.
And voila!

I still haven't painted the valve cover, Im waiting for a day with good weather. Plus, I didn't want to scratch it in the process of putting it in.
So now all that's left it:
finish wiring(almost done)
mount and wire gauges/boost controller
reconnect all the lines
run positive cable to trunk for the battery
have BOV flange welded onto fmic piping
then put everything back together!
We're getting close!
