My daughter was a daycare and was walking up the steps. She lost her footing and the provider caught her before she fell. She has a super small fracture in her elbow but I feel so bad for her. Im glad its her elbow and not her head though.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. It'll happen a billion times and it will always make you panic. It's just part of being a parent.

My 2 youngest boys, 2 and 5, are constantly hurting themselves. They both play hockey, t-ball, ride bikes, whip around the house pushing cars or Tonka trucks and are generally going at life full speed. They're bruised and scabbed on a regular basis...as boys should be! Just the other day Dylan (5) was hauling a$$ around the culdesac on his bike and when his foot slipped off the pedal and ended up somehow going over the handlebars. He twisted his seat and the handlebars out of alignment in the process.

During a typical race around the house, Dylan entered the kitchen pushing a truck while being pursued by Thomas, the truck got away from Dylan and he crashed on the tile floor splitting his chin wide open, bout 1.5 inches. This was minutes before we were taking the wifeunit2000 to the airport for deployment. So I butterflied his face closed and we pressed on.

Chicks dig scars.

It's always ugly and scary when your kids get hurt. Remain calm at all costs. If you freak, your kids will freak. All parents should take first aide/buddy care and be certified in CPR. I keep a well stocked first aid closet.

Im not freaking out at all. I just feel bad for my daughter. My son on the other hand is ALWAYS doing something to hurt himself... Shot himself in the foot with my paintball gun, Falls down stairs, trips himself, fights, racing people every chance he gets, jumping off s*** with his bike, and hes only 7...I cant wait to see what 13 has in store for me... :gapteeth:

13 isn't that scary. Wait'll he gets his learner's permit. :) Enjoy the simplicity of age 7.

i dont have any kids but if you should ask my parents about how many times ive hurt myself growing up . i did the over the handle bars on a bike thing, broke my arm, more stitches than i can count. stab myself in the leg with a knife when i was 4. broke my foot skateboarding. scares all over my body from random things. even as adult im still accident prone, elctrocoting myself a couple times,(not cool), cut the tips of three of my fingers with a table saw, (i was lucky to save them) and im only 29 :) . im pretty sure im the reason my mom has grey hair

I have a 10 year old daughter and she's been mostly accident free. Bumps and scrapes, but nothing major. I have a 2 month old daughter now as well, so we'll see how she turns out, LOL. The boys are bad about injuries though. My nephew is ALWAYS covered in scabs.

Have a 4, 3, 1 year old and one on the way. They are always pushing and shoving each other. Every day my daughter is crying from being hurt. Its part of growing up.

Was at a briefing today in which we watched an overly graphic drunk driver awareness video that involved small children, that's as far as I'll go into that. Needless to say I gave mine a big hug as soon as I got home today.
