got tired of the crank ups, had these spal window motors in the garage. decided to be productive today.

install motors, run wires to switch location.

install switch, run power, ground, and headlight signal, (for lights in the switch).

attach wires from motors to switch, this was a little confusing, just use a spare car battery to figure which wire is hot when the window goes up, the hook up accordingly. then put panels and interior back in.

enjoy not using youre arm to roll windows up. and if youre anything like me, it will take a few times of reaching for a window crank that isnt there before you realize you modified it.....i feel like an idiot.

I had no idea you were still modding your 240 hahah..Nice work man.Mind commenting on the door panel fabric? How's your work holding up? It looks better than anything I've ever attempted after geeze (x # of) years in the hot cali sun.

The switches are high current..... so no need for relays. I have probably installed 50 of these kits on customer cars. SPAL makes top-end product. Well, they make all of the OEM BMW switches etc.

tapped the battery direct, wanted to be able to use them all the time. used the headlight switch to tap the headlight signal. i got mine years ago from where i worked, im sure you can get them online.

broadfield answered the relay question, the switch does all the work. just make sure to fuse your power lead in case.

i did a write up on the door panel fabric. i need to redo mine, fading a little. just look up a write up by me.

The other cool thing you can do when installing this kit is wire the power source lead to constant power. That way you can roll the windows up and down without the key being on. Makes it very nice if it starts raining or something. You can just run out and hit the switches. I also rewired the power source on my OEM windows to constant. Very cake stuff!
