Can anyone help me with custom computer build (i7 2600k)

I brought my old machine downstairs and tried some part switching..

Took old computer video card and inserted into new computer. Powered it on and the cards fan started spinning.
Put new computer video card into old computer and plugged it in. Powered it on and no fan spinning.

So, it would appear my video card took a dump. The Mobo should be fine because it powers on the old video card.

What I can't understand is why? I was careful with the install of the wireless card. The computer powered on fine and ran for a few minutes while I was installing the driver for the wireless card.. then poof.. black.

I bought the card from Newegg.. they better replace it!!!!

I'm still within the 30 day return window, so I just have to pay for shipping back to them and they will ship a replacement to me.

I might check out the warranty on the next one.

I also might get a different wireless card... just in case.

Double-check your PSU, too. On one of my older rigs, I had a weird PSU problem that I didn't diagnose until it had taken out two video cards and a hard drive.

not sure how to check the power supply? It's a 700W unit, so it should have ample power for everything I'm running.

I wonder if it was just bad luck.. strange timing, etc...

Or was it something to do with the wireless card??? I would be really pissed if I get a second one and proceed to blow it up as well.

You can also buy a power supply tester for $15.

If you don't have multimeter, Harbor Freight sells them for about $3. They're not the most accuate, but should be fine for this.
