Has anyone had any bearing noise or grinding noise when the motor is hot? My Rogue recently had some abnormal noise around the A/C compressor area. The noise happens whether the clutch is activated or not, so It could be the Pulley bearing. It only happens while its hot or driving distance over 15 Miles. The noise happens whether I'm in drive, park, or reverse. I would rev the car and it's hard to determine if the noise increases with high engine speed. I would assume the problem is between the Flexplate and input shaft but, it's coming from the opposite side of the tranny.
Took it in to Nissan they didn't hear any noise. Noise didn't even happen when I took it home. It was about 70 degrees outside today. The noise appeared 2 weeks ago, It was 90 degrees 2 weeks ago. I would guess the noise happens in hot weather, So I'll add water pump to the suspect list.
11' Rogue SV AWD If this helps, it sounds like a bad Throwout Bearing/Pilot bearing.

i gotta be honest with you = GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC. your kinda all over the place. your saying it could be the a/c pump, inside the bell housing=input shaft bearing/throw out bearing, timing chain, a pulley, from the tranny, or from the engine. go see a pro - to narrow down the problem. you right now dont even know if its a pulley issue, valve train issue, or a tranny issue.
if its a timing chain, it would start instantly from the beginning of starting an engine. if it was loose it would slap when being turned on, or off. it would sound like a chain saw. (see videos below)
and regarding the input shaft / throw-out bearing = it will rattle when in neutral. it will rattle random times, and not often. i know it was that - and after 3 months of fighting with the infiniti dealer - we had my whole manual transmission replaced on my girls 2010 G37s (6speed manual). its really distinct sound. like a marble in a metal can sound that happens for 2-3 seconds and then goes away. or it would happen when you push your clutch in, or out - depends and will tell you which bearing it is
Got my back couple days ago from 2weeks of service on it. The noise came back...... When I have time I'm going to take it to local shops or I'm going to buy those high frequency mics to determine where it's coming from. Sound is hard to pick up on camera.
Pcv makes the sound. I didn't really get a chance to check it out due to the 110 temps outside. They said it whistles, but when they pinched the hose the noise stopped. They tried it with another rogue and the other rogue did the same.
I'll see if they traced down the right noise or not when temps hit 90 again outside.
