Im looking for a cheap all season that I can get some decent life out of. Not looking for a performance tire, just an everyday daily driver tire

Well, I believe Winrun is one of several low priced but cheaply made Chinese tire brands starting to come over in increasing numbers. I don't know anything about their quality, wear ratings or warranty. I see them as the tire you might put on a car you're selling if the your existing tires are bad, but not the type of tire you'd necessarily want to trust your life driving on everyday.

I have never heard of them. I think you should just stay away from them.

I've actually owned a shockingly good and affordable set of Chinese tires. They were the Giti Greatwall brand. I had a 92 Cadillac Seville that was nearing 200k, and since I wasn't sure how much longer I was going to own the car, I decided to buy a cheap set to get it rolling.

They turned out to be superbly quiet, grippy on rain and snow, and smooth as silk. I went all over the country with them in all kinds of harsh weather conditions.

http://www.giti.com/en/milestones.asp

Among Chinese brands, Giti is fairly well respected, providing OEM tires for established automakers [in China] like Buick, Chevrolet, and Wuling.

But I've never heard of WinRun. Their website isn't even complete. http://www.winruntires.com/
Click on "Tire Technology" on the left. They didn't even fill out the rest of the page template.

I chatted up a kid in an STI a while back when the temps dropped and we got some snow up in the mountains. I told him car looked good and asked what kind of tires he was running and he said WinRun. I guess he saw the look that was partial confusion, curiosity, disdain and "what the hell are you thinking" with the impending eye roll when he glanced over at my Z and said that at least they were all-seasons.

He got quiet and scuttled away when I told him I was running the new Bridgestone 970's.

Most likely, they will wear funny, they will wear quickly, they can and will fail prematurely (tread seperation), and they will be noisy.

You have to expect to pay alot of money for a bigger wider tire, especially in your size. I had 275/35/18 and I couldnt find anything (namebrand) for less than $130/tire. But, this website seemed to have the best prices for decent tires.

Simple advice since you are still thinking about buying them.

Just remember tires are like suspension and brakes. Don't cheap out on them because that $400 savings could cost you your life...

Among lower-cost tires, consider Nexen (Korean, OEM for Kia and Hyundai) and Kumho.

Hi,
I just joined the forum to bump a year old thread and tell you that the company pays me to log onto other forums and pretend I'm actually a consumer of my own crap product, even though I wouldn't dream of putting them on my own car. Thus, I had my post edited by a moderator to truly reflect the situation at hand, and reiterate the fact that you get what you pay for when you buy cheap tires! So there you have it, if you're cool with possible destruction of your vehicle due to premature failure of the tire or tread separation, by all means, buy the "bargain" tire. May just be the most expensive cheap purchase you'll ever make. :chuckle: :chuckle: :dblthumb:

Most likely spammer promoting the tire. Especially considering this is the first post and the car is a 2008 Saturn Vue. You wanna swing the hammer or me?

In October 2012, I purchased a brand new set of Winrun Roadclaw H/T for my truck for $560.00 Installed. At first these tires were great, quiet and smooth. I do not do any hard driving and rarely tow anything or go off road. My truck had 108k miles when I purchased them and I now have 113k. After only 5000 miles and 6 months I have to say these are the worst tires I have ever had the displeasure of owning and using. I really regret being cheap and buying these tires. The tread is wearing very unevenly and a couple of the tires' tread is seperating from the tire. I am now looking for a quality set of Mickey Thompsons or BF Goodrich. Please consider my experience if you're looking to save money with these tires! In the long run I have spent more money then if I had just bought a quality set. :tisk: You live and Learn
