exactly my point.you shuold have seen some of the flame threads about my car when the pictures first went up on the web. God that was awful over there.

Most of their members are the stereotypical "If it's not an SR20DET, then it's crap" kind of people. That's not how a Nissan community should be. There has to be love for all the cars, with any motor you might choose.

Personally, I don't care what motor is in your car. If you take care of it, you get props.

Yeah I've been a lurker there for awhile. There's a handful of cool guys and then the rest is uh.... Let's just say that I actually felt my IQ shrinking from reading some of the posts there. Zilvia.net is the bottom rung of Nissan "enthusiast" webforums. At the other end of the spectrum, we have Hybridz.org, the coolest, most knowledgeable and open-minded Nissan-related club. Heck, guys over there give you props if you wanna slap a tank engine in a Z.

Zilvia.net makes you appreciate the nazi mods we have here at NICO. :D

The new Z can't beat an m3....Although I do love the 350, the m3 is a little out of the Z's league.

I am a huge Nissan enthusiast, you all know this....but a 2k1 or higher M3 "stock" will destroy any "stock" 350z we have....in all fields except for one.....price... : ).

M3 is my dream car...I'll get one after college : )

yeah....FR means front engine, rear wheel drive.

if i'm not mistaken, the 350 is more like a FMR. The engine is in between being an F and M.

So what, the engine is in the passenger cabin now? I think not... the 350z is most definately FR (front engine, rear wheel drive).

Quote »The 350Z utilizes Nissan's new FM (front midship) platform meaning the engine sits behind the front wheel axle thus technically making the Z a mid-ship engine car just like the Acura NSX and Toyota MR2. However the Z's engine will be mounted in the front of the car rather than rear unlike the NSX or MR2. The Honda S2000 can also be classified as a front midship car. The advantage of the FM package is an almost 50/50 front to back weight distribution and thus more neutral handling. The FM package also specifies 4 wheel independent multi-link suspension along with newly developed ripple control shock absorbers.[/quote]

Check it out here.

Um, hate to burst your bubble but the 350Z and G35 are both front mid engine, just like an MR2 is rear mid engine.

Motor is totally behind the front axel so it is by definition mid engine. MR2 motor is in front of the rear axel so it's mid engine as well. The porsche 911 has a rear engine since the motor hangs out past the rear axel. 240sx is front engine since the motor is in front of the front axel.

yellwmonky: just like it!? Just like it?! didi you look at the MR2 and the NSX lately? The engine is behind if not inbetween the rear wheels making the car a mid-engine car. the 350Z engine sits inbetween the front wheels. thus making it a front enigne/rear drive car. quoted from Road and Test says "chassis & body layout...front engine/rear drive". sorry pall but your source is wrong. JUST LIKE the NSX and MR2 he says LMAO! get the hell out of here!

um...what are you talking about? Before you make more of an *** of yourself, read the article I linked you to. If you look, you can see that I quoted the article. That means I didn't say anything.

Second of all, you are wrong. But keep believing what you want. Doesn't make much difference to me. Just try not to spread false info.

I stand corrected...

I'd still say it's a front engine, rear wheel drive car though. Although technically you are correct also since it is 'mounted behind the front axle' or whatever. I don't see people calling porsche 911's rear engine rear wheel drive (like moving mentioned), but maybe I just don't get our enough...

It's not a big deal..I don't know what SilviaLuver (<- or whatever) is getting his panties in a bunch about. I would still call the new Z a FR before I call it an MR, but technically it is a FMR.

the new G35/350 platform is called the FM platform for Front Mid engine.

Like I said it's kinda weird the way they do it if your not used to it, but still technically correct.
