There's some stuff on v8nissans.com. I didn't do anything with mine because I'm redoing my dash with all new aftermarket gauges. Check that site. There's tons of information on there about what needs to be soldered to make the speedometer work semi-properly. My speedometer shows about 60-65% actualy right now, but I have a GPS in the car to keep me good until I get my new gauges finished up.

im considering going with this...
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance- ... 8/10002/-1

it will fit in the stock S13 gauge cluster..

uses GPS speedo, and adjustable tach, water, fuel, oil pressure, and voltage..

not too shabby for $400+/-

That's actually pretty nice. I'm using a speedhut set of 6 and making my own cluster. It has a GPS speedo w/ trip & odometer, water temp, voltage, oil pressure, fuel, and tach. Each gauge has programmable warning lights, which I liked the most.

http://www.speedhut.com/custom_gauge_de ... er-854.htm

The trip/odometer lcd records 1/4 time & speed, 0-60 time, clock time, peak speed, elevation, and compass.

Hey Zach, awesome job and I hope this build continues! Any updates on the interior? Also, I thought you were going to go with blue paint, but you decided on black?

Black was temporary to cover up the car. I'm still in the air on my permanent paint color. I've had a lot of financial trouble the last year, so I'm still catching up to where I want to be. The interior is OE right now, except none of the plastic trim pieces other than the dash and center console. it will eventually all be painted over to look clean. A roll cage and racing seats are in the future. Also, a custom dash and cluster will be made. I'll document it all when I get a chance.

I'm having the same problem with my break lights staying on at random times. Car was dead when I tried to leave for work today. What am I looking at to fix the problem? Just the button not releasing? Going to look at it when I have time.

Well it's a common problem. The little metal plate that actually touches the button has a little plastic grommet in it that breaks and falls out. With that gone, there just a hole in the metal plate where the button hits, so it doesn't work too well. A lot of people glue a penny on there, I installed a panhead screw with the pan head towards the button. It worked beautifully.

It's in for paint and extensive body work as we speak. I'll post pictures when I get it back.

Just went through all 24 pages of this thread. I know you've replied to this generic comment over and over, but great work man. But I really hope you don't paint it that blue Mazda blue. :P I personally think it is so played out and looks terrible on the S chassis, except for maybe an S15. That Audi grey you posted would be sick though. Just sayin :chuckle:

I'm glad that you live in Orlando! I come through there almost 3 times a year. I love to do this to my 1992 Infiniti M30! What do you suggest for doing such a swap? Can Stoker Racing fab brackets and mounts for the M30s and if so what's the cost? Since you have group buys it would seen I have to get with the M30 crowd to see if anyone wants to do such a swap!

All the group buys are closed, unfortunately. I'm sure I'd be more than happy to help you fab something up. I've been very busy getting a repair shop up and running in Orlando so my fab work has been on hold for quite some time. My 240 has actually been on hold as well until a couple weeks ago with more body work commenced.

For anyone in the Orlando area reading this...

Tomorrow my shop is having a grand opening celebration from 10am - 2pm with free food and good conversation. We're having a few cool cars pop in and show off and I'm looking for a couple more. Most of the ones I have so far are on the American front and would love to get some more import action up in here.

Thanks a million times over for this thread , I remember reading this so long ago while I was just starting my KA-T build. I just picked up my first 92 VH45DE and I cant thank you enough for the wiring and fabrication documented in here. I was also interested in the engine bracket group buy when you get more spare time to fab up some.
$175 u-pull it and only 127k :naughty:

Xcessive is the best bang for the buck right now on the mounts, I think.

Great Find.

I just read through all these posts, and when it stopped here, I felt like I got kicked in the nuts! That being said, I think you have swayed my decision as to what engine to use in my 93 :}

Hey guys! I have been busy. I don't get to get on here nearly as much as I'd like anymore. I now operate:

www.trackntrek.com

It's an online store for parts for a select few cars and a select few off-road trucks. It's fully functioning, and parts are being added in and indexed daily. Being who I am and what I love, you can expect there to be a lot of hard to find Nissan build parts, especially of the VH persuasion. ;)

Update:

I already chimed in that my car sat for a couple years. It's a sad fact, but things are starting to come back together for lots more new and exciting things. I pulled the motor out of the car. It is getting some upgrades and some sprucing up after what it endured the last couple years of neglect. The shell itself is going in for bodywork and a new paint job. FINALLY! I only trust it with one person, so it is in queue at the moment.

I'm not going to hint too much on what to expect as far as changes to the motor, but keep tabs on my website for new VH performance parts that will come available in the near future. They probably went on my motor first.

I just created an account and I'm definitely reviving a somewhat dead post, but I have to know after spending the last few hours reading this whole swap process. Where are pics of the car as it is now? I would guess maybe the car on the front page of the site you posted, http://www.trackntrek.com, would be it. If that's the case, then it looks like you did go with the blue instead of grey. I also noticed you haven't posted in a little over a year. I hope all is well.

I had a 1990 Q45 about 10 years ago, and at the time, there were a few 300zx swaps on the net, but not much on it. I bought a 1991 240sx a year later in 2004. I worked for a Nissan dealership for 2 years in the parts dept, and a good friend of mine was a tech there, and we always talked about what a cool swap a VH45 would be in a S13. Well, after reviewing your post here, I have to say it was as much work as we thought, but you did one hell of a job on everything.

I just wanted to post to this and see if you had any pics of the car now for those of us who stumble upon this relic and became enthralled in it. Great job man!! :mike
