I opened this thread thinking it was going to be another generic build thread where someone turns a once decent looking 240 into a ricer's dream.

Keep up the good work. This thing is going to be sweet!

Truly impressive... I love to see people take their time and do things right. Excited to see more progress! Keep it coming!

(first post in 3+ years...you should feel special)

In the end, doing everything yourself is a very rewarding experience. Not only do you end up learning more than you ever thought you could about your own vehicle, but you also get the satisfaction (and pride) of saying, "I built this." Good stuff man. Good stuff.

I hadn't powder coated before so I bought the 10-30psi kit from Harbor Freight Tools. Played around until I got it and now I'm making some pretty impressive stuff. Powder coating ftw! I found a guy locally who wants to sell his kit (a little more advanced) and I'm seriously thinking about it.

i have to admire you for the work your willing to put into the car, because if it was me and i went to go look at the car and i saw it was covered in shlt and the yellow i think i would have keep looking for another 240, but you just prove that even if its has a messed up body that its always fixable

Thanks, Yeah. I knew it would be a hell of a project to get it where I want it, but wth, I love doing this kind of work. And it's hard to beat a rust-free body with no major issues for $200.

Looks great.

How much of that chassis saver paint did you use on your engine bay?

WOW! I can tell you didn't cut any corners what so ever. So much detail! I was thinking about getting that HF powder coat kit as well to begin with. How did you like the quality of the product?

Oddly enough, I only used 2/3 of a quart on the engine bay, rear subframe, rear spindles, strut brace endlinks, crank pulley... I was surprised because it goes on thick.

It wasn't too bad. I did my test runs with cheap powder at first and I was disappointed, but when I went with some 'Cardinal' powder, everything changed. It did the job I wanted it to do. The gun I have is rated for 10-30 psi, I ran it at around 23-25.

Just noticed you had a powder coater. Does this mean you want to start powder coating parts for people? (They paypal you, they ship you the part, you coat it, and ship it back.)

I wouldn't have a problem with that at all.

... and thanks for the MAF!

How much would you charge to do an SR valve cover? Redo the black in black, and do the lettering in red..

Cool beans, I look forward to it.

I'll be putting up another update on here pretty soon, probably later this week with some more powder-coating. Keep in touch Chris.
