Hi everyone, I need help with my gauge cluster. I have a 1990 TT. Recently I did a LED conversion on my cluster. I also swapped out the black OEM gauge faces with the NR white gauges. After installing, I wasn't happy with all the hot spots so I Put the black faces back on only leaving the boost and oil pressure gauges white(looks amazing). I also deleted the fog lights and switched them with LED fog lights. At first everything worked good for about 2 days. Now, none of the illuminating LED's in the cluster go on and neither do the fog lights. All the warning led's work well. Also when I turn on the headlights(low beam), only the high beams turn on.The low beams just don't turn on. When I pull the turn signal stalk, the high beam indicator does not turn on in the cluster either. I have a second cluster which I tried to switch over all the parts but ended up with the same thing. Is there a fuse or something that I might have blown. I'm stuck and I don't really want to buy a third cluster. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Fuses and relays come to mind. Look for lights, interior, and accessory type labels. Checking them all shouldn't take too long. Are you using any wiring diagrams or the FSM?

Ok I found the problem, It was a fuse that was blown in the kick panel fuse box. Everything is working as far as lights but my fuel gauge and temp gauge is not working. I'm in NY.

Glad it's working! Mostly. I'm not sure about the other gauge issues. Fuel uses a series of contacts I think, maybe a float but I doubt it. Temp gauge is often just the sensor in the coolant piping gone bad (single wire), separate from the other temp sensor for the ECU (two wires). Sometimes it's just the wire harness connection has broken. At least that's how it's been on my 240sx's. Check your FSM for details.

Hi, I changed both sensors single wire and double wire, and still the temp gauge is not working. I think I need to check the wiring harness, Theres only one problem, How do I check the wiring harness!!!??

From the connector check for continuity (with ohm setting) to the ecu pin

Yup. But I think you are talking about the gauges, so it will be continuity from sensor to your cluster. You'll want to review the wiring diagram from the FSM for your make/ model. We have them here under Service Manuals at the top of each page if you haven't found it already.
