My 1986.5 has Ca emissions and I was wondering..... what can be eliminated in the way of vacuum hoses and little cannisters and servo's that seem to be littered in the engine compartment. Is there any benefit or will it never run right again. If someone has a diagrahm of the minimum or their upgraded routing of all the hoses.... ? Or just Leave it alone? Any info will be appreciated....
thanks

Depends what you are trying to achieve and whether you need to pass a sniff test or not. What are your goals for the truck? More power or better mileage?

I am looking for mileage and power.... mileage the most important. I do not have to pass emissions in Fl. I have removed and plugged off the air pump, still have the cad converter, but those lines going up to the engine compartment plugged off too. I am not sure if I should remove the converter since I have heard the engine may need the back pressure.... I haven't really driven the truck enough to see what the gas mileage is but it seems decent.

That's a tough one since power comes at the price of mileage, it's not easy to have both sometimes.
