I don't have health insurance either.... ain't life a *****,

My advise is involves a small caliber rifle or the dog 'playing' in the street in front of an 18 wheeler..... neither of which a judge would smile upon.

Your best bet is to call them and ask who they want your lawyer to call (or better yet ask "who will be representing you in this case") and let them think about that for a little bit. Useually if you ask around you can find sombody who is either a lawyer or works at a law office, and have them call the house of the people "hi, this is Paul from the law offices of Dewey Screwm and Howe, calling in regard to the dog bite case" If you play the game right you can accomplish about anything. Unless the guy is in the mob..... that's when you take my other advise I guess

but anways my mom told my dad that day when it happened, my dad said they'll get the cop after going to the hospital. I guess they 4got about the cop thing and never called. So can we still call the cop right now just to have a record down? or is no use no more casue it's been a week or so.

you can take her to small claims court...but 300 bux isn't really worth it. if u are gonna seek an lawyer, its definitely not worth it b/c of the lawyers bill. its 300 bux...i would honestly just bite it. some people wanna be ignorant, just know ur the better person. :)

I Agree. Small claims court is the only way to go for such a small amount, if your mother is determined for a victory. You don't even need a lawyer in small claims court. But remember your mom would still have to take the time to go thru with it, plus she'd have to pay whatever the filing fee is, (probably not that much), plus there's no guarantee she'll win. Unfortunately, you roll the dice in court even the evidence appears overwhelming in your favor. Remember OJ got acquitted. She'll have to decide if it's worth the time off from work, the upfront cost, and the aggravation to chase $300. I'm not sure I would chase it, but everyone is different.I hope she feels better. Good luck

Never too late to call the police. A police report can only help to document any claims. The fact that both your parents were there will help the case since they're both witnesses to all interactions with your neighbor. Remember this is a civil case, not criminal. "Proof beyond a shadow of a doubt" does not apply. So again I think the odds of winning in small claims court are good...will the judge believe your parents or will they believe that your parents are evil people, going through all this trouble, and just making things up for a measly $300? Just keep in mind that you might not actually get paid any awarded settlement, but if it's still worth it, you will have options available then.
