Hey! the 84 vette was....well..Yeah, it had that cool digital dashboard! It didn't have the nuts to beat the Skyline of the same year, though. I did the field research. That Japanese dude in the Vette was not pleased getting stomped by an American in a Skyline. It wasn't even an FJ20ET either, he lost to an L20ET! :rotflmao

Not quite as epic as my first wife smoking an 82 Vette with her 20-valve 4AG Levin, though. That guy was totally broken at the next stoplight; he wouldn't even look over, b****. :lolling:

In case anyone was wondering "who's pursuing who":

"King has said that, to remain viable, the union must organize workers at plants owned by Japanese, German and Korean automakers."

Notice no one is saying, "In order to remain viable, Nissan must become unionized."

Here's another article (poorly-written, I might add) from the "Chief Organizer at ACORN" (one of Barack's buddies, presumably):

http://chieforganizer.org/2012/08/20/ua ... -a-prayer/

He doesn't give the UAW's efforts much hope for success either. Make sure to read the part about the current wages of the workers there, and remember: These are people who would likely be on public assistance if it weren't for the Nissan plant.

I grew up very close to Jackson, and there's no question - $60K a year is a king's ransom in that area. Yet the UAW brings in a washed-up Hollywood blowhard (wtf, Danny Glover?) to turn the tide?

This thing has reached absurd proportions.

They're still at it.

I subscribe to a feed that gives me EVERY article on this topic... and I read most of them.

Since this thread started, I *still* haven't read what the UAW thinks they can achieve for workers that the workers can't already ask for on their own.

Gotta love their persistence, though. It's gotta suck knowing your "free ride" is going the way of the dodo.

I just received some "propaganda" from the goons: http://t.co/O5huh23Z

So, I used their convenient form :) to send my own email to Mr. Shiga... an email of support:

Dear Mr. Shiga,

This may not be the type of email you're used to seeing, but I hope this message finds you in good health and enjoying a prosperous year.

I am writing in SUPPORT of Nissan's opposition to the archaic and unnecessary intrusion of the UAW at the Canton plant and elsewhere. Their harassment of workers and automakers with threats of destined-to-fail certification elections serve only to disrupt operations. They weren't satisfied ruining GM and Chrysler, and almost Ford... so now they're targeting Japanese automakers in the US.

I hope Nissan continues to stand firm against these cretins. Their time has come and gone, and Nissan has brought a sustainable quality of life to many thousands of people in the previously depressed regions of the South. Don't let the Union thugs ruin it for the good people who just want to work hard, collect a paycheck, and live in peace.

I've been a supporter of NNA for over a decade and I know many, many employees (from the plant floor to the corporate boardrooms). If they have issues, they are encouraged to discuss these matters with management, openly and honestly, without fear of dismissal. While it's no surprise that the UAW can't possibly comprehend such an arrangement based on mutual respect, not fear, they don't understand the Japanese philosophy of employee relations.

Keep up the great work, and may God bless you and Nissan in the coming years.

MORE idiocy related to union activities - This time, at Chrysler.

http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2013 ... z2MYOEEhNS

This buffoon decides to "go rogue" and pull a stunt that the UAW doesn't even sanction. I hope Chrysler gives him his GTFO slip.

"The United Auto Workers did not sanction Thursday's protest, and UAW leaders have said they support the new work schedule because it means more jobs."

Sounds like he's F'd.

In other news, GM and Nissan just kicked the UAW square in the sack: http://www.autonews.com/article/2013051 ... z2TNqOY1rg

In more than one roundabout way, the unions have actually CONTRIBUTED to outsourcing. When will they learn?

Well, the goons at the UAW are on a roll this week. As long as they keep doing stupid things, I'll keep posting about them:

http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2013-05- ... -3-billion

I love how they think anyone in that part of the country would have a job, much less pay taxes, if it weren't for auto manufacturing.

I also love how they're basically painting themselves into a hypocritical corner by opposing their beloved POTUS's plans. They didn't pitch a fit when BO bailed out GM and Chrysler, but now that a state is hooking up a non-Union plant, they're all butthurt.

I'm surprised they can tie their own shoes, much less build new cars. :chuckle:

They can tie their shoes, but per union regulations there must be a left shoe team, a right shoe team, each with one dude to lace, one to tie, a guy that brings the laces, a supervisor and a quality control guy. They can get those shoes tied, but it will cost $560 for seven dudes at $40 per hour going by the union manual which codifies shoe tying as a 2 hour job.

Meanwhile the Japanese and Koreans will sell you a whole new pair of shoes for $80.

...and yet people STILL blame Capitalists, Republicans, entrepreneurs, the Tea Party, Wal-Mart, Jesus, and Mom's apple pie because jobs are going overseas.

Smell that? It's the scent of stupid.

Great op-ed piece on the UAW's tactics (and a good reason why they'll continue to fail). http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2013 ... z2YobDhpMK
