I would like to know if it's still possible to find some ca18det cam, like 256 or 264 from a website or use.

Thanks a lot

They show up on eBay every now and then. Other than that, you could send your stockers off to colt cams and have them reground.

raretrick sells ca cam kits so just give them a call. Takakaira has them too, and then as said they turn up on ebay pretty frequently. Just watch your lift or you'll have to swap to the tomei solid kit. With all but the most mild cam upgrades you will probably want to upgrade your springs and retainers... and that can be expensive since there isn't the biggest selection of high quality units available stateside.

If you are going with the 272 duration set or lower, your stock springs and retainers will be fine. The lift isn't anything to be concerned about. When you start breaking 10.5mm of lift, then yeah, go to the solid lifters. Hell, DSMs rev to 8k consistently on their rocker arm setups without floating valves on HKS 272s all day long. But really, at anything higher than 272s, you better be running a ported head and sheet-metal intake manifold so those aftermarket springs and retainers should already be done...

I know for a fact HKS cams are degree'd from the factory. I am pretty sure the Tomei ones are too. So if you get either of those, you should be fine.

So if I did understand, if I go with some 256 or 264 cam and about less than 10mm lift, I could use my stock spring and lifter, I more than that I would need solid lifter. Now what is the diffirence between the solide lifter and stock unit. Thanks a lot guy's

A lifter is a device that allows the motion of the Camshaft lobe to be transmitted to the valve. There are two different types. Solid and Hydraulic (AKA Lash). Most modern vehicles use a hydraulic type lifter. The reason for this is that they are self adjusting and therefore greatly reduce maintenece. The drawback is that they generally weigh more than a comprable type solid lifter and they don't actuate the valve as accurately as a solid lifter can.
