looking for an excellent shape dashboard for a 1972 521 pickup can not have any cracks.. also need tailgate chains..steve

I am looking for one as well. I just got a 72 521 and it is in good shape but I just want to tweak a few things. The dash is fine but the top has two crack / lines. I think I need to find a local restore shop to fix or I just have to buy individual parts and do it myself.

Your more likely to find a good 520 metal dash top than to find a good 521 dash top, start searching for a 520 dash top, and expect to pay at least $150.00 or more for it.
You also might be able to strip the top you have down to metal, they look alright that way, but before doing that look at the bottom/underside of the dash top, some have triangular holes in them, they cannot be stripped as then you would just have big holes.
You could also just cover your dash like my 521 had when I first bought it, it had tuck and roll.

I am currently working on a new dash cover. I have a 521 as well and my dash pad was rough. I am working with a professional shop that makes other fiberglass parts for me. This is the first cap. Currently my truck and cap are at the painters. I will post more pics once it is finished but so far I am happy with the results. I do plan to offer these very soon..Like in a few weeks. I just want to complete mine. Some trimming may be required at the ends but I think it turned out very nice considering the alternative of pulling the dash pad off and recovering.
No pricing as of yet and I will most likely offer a couple for sale to guys that will install them right away and give feedback but honestly if I can install mine and it looks good then there should be no issues.
