Well, it would be on a stock E (at least to start). I may build the DE that I have in my parts car (much later). As far as desired HP...nothing specific...250whp +. I'm mainly interested in a turbo that won't choke the 2.4 and has a broad power band.

From looking at a post on freshalloy it was mentioned that the turbo used on the dyno'd KA was choking it. Which was a reason given that the HP dropped after 4k RPMs.

The car would be a summer daily driver that would hopefully see some auto-X; not just a straight line racer. It would be nice to be able to pull good on the highway as well.

Highway pulls or auto-x...which do want the car for???

Auto-x will benefit from a Z31 sized T3...i.e. a straight T3 with a stage I turbine, .63 A/R.

Highway pulls will benefit from a T3/T04E with a decent trim (50 is best) for the compressor and a larger stage III turbine wheel, maybe even stage V...which will add lag. .63 A/R is good - Won't choke it, but gives decent spool.

So the afformention straight T04E is a BAD choice for ~250rwhp - Way too big.

I'd say use a hybrid...have good auto-x spool and power, with great mid-range and decent top end.

My reccomendation: T3/T04E, 50 trim, stage III, .63 A/R. $550 from cheapturbos.com.

Or easier and cheaper, for 250HP - Z31 T3 - They do well on a 3.0-liter...and make good power on the KA. Better for street cars and auto-x.

Later - Brian
